When Sam found out we were going with another lender (after he said he would match rates and then decided not to), he called the seller and told him "our financing was in jeopardy" which almost killed the deal
He promised us one rate on a mortgage. Later he raised the rate claiming that we told them the deal to buy the house was off. We did not. Emails show we said we made requests of the seller and were waiting to hear back. When confronted with this, he said there was nothing he could do. He also claims he cares about customers, but he transferred our mortgage to a servicing company that doesn't provide basic online customer service.

I am sorry that you are upset - but your review is in accurate. You decided not to move forward with your loan until you resolved the issues with the seller and you did indicate that it looked like the deal would fall apart. This went on for 2 weeks and you did not lock your rate - the market worsened and the rates increased.
