A terrific little spot in the heart of Cold Spring Harbor, Sandbar impresses with a modern decor with seafaring references, congenial and well-paced service, and tasty food. The wine list is good but not overwhelming. I recommend the Sandbar salad with a healthy dollop of warm, garlic infused goat cheese on sourdough toast, and the roasted chicken was moist and tender. For dessert, definitely do the warm cookies and milk (although I'd like it with less milk shake and more a la mode).

I ate here the other night and I must say the decor is spot on from the floor to the ceiling. The bar has amazing tiling with a retractable ceiling so you can see the night sky! I started off with a great cocktail called red delicious and I must say it was delicious and the presentation was great!!! Then we sat down to eat and the dining room was so beautiful with the high ceilings and comfy chairs! Some food that we got were the chickpea fries (amazing never had anything like it), oysters that were local (some of the best I... read more

My wife and I went for dinner and were seated immediately upon arrival. What a gorgeous dining room. High ceilings with exposed beams and beautiful paintings of local shore lines all give the place a beach house feel. We commented on this to our waitress, Kristin, who offered to show us around a bit more. Back past the kitchen was a stunningly elegant private room, and on our way back to our table, Kristin pointed out the two story glass wine cellar. They really spared no expense. Our food was divine. The foie gras to die fo... read more

Stopped in for lunch...... First of all the decor of the place is on the money, very welcoming feel and also trendy. The bar is comfortable and nice to dine at unlike other places I've been. Cocktail list was very intriguing. The quality of food was top notch. The sandbar salad is a meal in itself. I will definitely return to eat again. Give this place a shot.

Upon entering we were greeted by a smiling and friendly hostess. Even though it was a Monday night the restaurant appeared to be steady. A few tables in the dining room as well as a bar crowd. I ordered the Peconic Bay Scallops and my husband ordered the Seared Tuna Special. We figured it being a American-Seafood place you cannot go wrong. The dynamic of the restaurant is to die for. The décor is that of a beachy resort. We requested a quiet table to celebrate a romantic evening as the hostess was more than happy to let us p... read more

This was my first time to Sandbar but not my last! Beautiful, calming decor, the seating area is small but inviting. Light tones and wood add to the upscale feel, and a separate bar area looks very attractive. Service was friendly and well-timed. The food was well prepared and flavorful - perhaps I wish the menu were a little broader? I've already made another reservation!
