I want to mention Michelle Bayuga, Social Worker at Santa Cruz Post Acute and give her great praise for being an advocate for the patients. Michelle has been my go-to person that I can rely on to follow through, and take care of any concerns that I may have concerning my father's care. She listens, communicates well, and seeks to find the best solutions. Over the years that I have interacted with her, Michelle has always maintained a professional quality, one of trust, empathy, and understanding. Wherever a listening ear ... read more
I am writing a review for Michelle Bayuga. I am currently a short term resident. I've been here 4 years+. I have watched Michelle grow from a receptionist to a fabulous Social Services rep. She helps us with our appointments, rides and various needs. I'm heartbroken to find her leaving next week. She should have been promoted. I don't think they know that this diamond in the rough is blooming into a beautiful flawless diamond. She's going to school and will soon have her degree. I wish Rusty could see all the hard work behi... read more
I've partnered with Rusty for many years now. Working with close to 250 nurses every year, Rusty has been instrumental in adding professional insider view to many of the nurses. I've seen those who have had the opportunity to meet with him thrive tremendously. As for my nurses who choose to go and work with Rusty after school, I've received nothing but positive back from them. I recommended highly as a business partner
My 92-year old mom has been there for two weeks rehabbing from a fall. The staff has been wonderful. Caring, responsive, competent and hard-working, especially the folks in rehab who are very dedicated and professional. The facilities are simple, but clean and well lit. The food is ok, nothing special. Parking is definitely hard to find.
My aunt was in this rehab facility due to a leg amputation and infection on the wound. She was just discharged and she is doing great! Mom and I were Talking and we both felt sorry for this facility, because we know my uncle is so rude and micromanages everything done to my aunt and he even speaks for her. He is truly the definition of a helicopter husband....bossy, demanding and a jerk to say the least. So mom and I were kinda waiting to hear all abt the horrible things he had to say abt this facility, like he did abt Do... read more
During the difficult years when our mom was suffering through Alzheimer's disease, she received continuous compassionate care from the medical and attending staff at Santa Cruz Post Acute (Kindred Care). The attentive staff treated her like she was part of their own family, providing her with loving care, respect, and dignity. They also showed great care for my family, taking time to update us and patiently explain things they observed. Thank you to all those who make Santa Cruz Post Acute such a caring place.
This is truly a fantastic facility. My grandfather has been in other skilled nursing facilities for his illnesses & injuries over the years but this one tops them all. Friendly and educated staff, outstanding nurses! If he ever needs to go back for short or long term care, this is definitely where I will have him go.
My loved one passed away at Santa Cruz Post Acute, and our experience there was heartbreaking. She was transferred from a Monterey hospital after femur surgery to receive physical therapy and become strong enough to return home, but instead her condition declined under their care. During her stay, she lost a considerable amount of weight, and although her surgical wound had healed, she developed bed sores on the bottoms of her feet and lower back that were not properly communicated to us (the family.) We witnessed isolation,... read more

BEWARE OF POORLY RUN SKILLED NURSING FACILITY My brother was placed here for rehab after being in the acute care hospital. He is mentally and physically impaired and unable to speak up for himself. This facility provided subpar, sloppy care including medication errors, not providing enough showers or hygiene, not enough nutrition...no snacks were provided between meals, and he was always hungry.. His lunch tray was always very late. They lost some of his clothes; the case manager took his hearing aids and accidentally left t... read more
