after 4 years of arguing with SCPA i could write a book on the non communication there. And just trying to get them to cut her toenails. last week she died . I noticed in I. the ICU, she had disgustingly over grown toenails . complete negligence. I could go on and on. nightmare for 4 years. sickens me .

For 3 days i've been trying to talk to anyone there regarding my Mom who went in with a lung infection. Have not talked to any one who could give me info on her status. Am getting very frustrated.

We didn't have a lot of choices given the timing. The staff seemed fine, the care adequate. But here's what happened: my mother's clothes were stolen while she was there. She came home wearing clothes we had never seen before. Her brand new wheelchair disappeared. again, she came home with a castoff. They didn't have her ready for her discharge. Best to avoid the place.

The absolute worst. A family member was there for rehabilitation. What little was done accomplished nothing. As soon as the insurance said they weren't paying anymore, she was out the door. Wouldn't feed my dog the food they serve. I hope I never have to go there.

I was at SCPA for one week after a 3-week hospital stay to finish out IV antibiotics. The aids and nurses truly are trying their best but are not given the resources to do so. The staff is disorganized. Communication with the patients is a wreck. The called my husband to have my "care conference" without me. They are severely short-staffed with each nurse having at least 20 patients. Good luck getting help when you push your call button. I would regularly hear people yelling out "help" because no one would come when the ca... read more

Business response:

Hi Joanne, We are deeply saddened to hear you weren't happy during your stay with us. It's been a unique time with statewide COVID protocols impacting what patients can and cannot do in a skilled nursing environment. Still, we are seeing those restrictions adjust over time as more people get vaccinated. In the meantime, we have invested in a unique tablet TV and entertainment offering that reduces noise levels and even offers relaxation sounds. Also, the missing baseboards and restroom issues are both tied to a corrective a... read more

My mother died in this facility after a 5 month stay. After 3 weeks of "searching", the facility has not been able to locate any of her personal property, namely her glasses, watch, hearing aids and charger, bible and clothing. The rechargeable hearing aids were less than a year. I can only conclude that the hearing aids and charger were stolen since they cost $5,000 and the remainder of her personal belongings were thrown away. Heartbreaking in the light of only being able to see her through a window 3 times due to Covi... read more

This place is deplorable! Dirty, old, disorganized, noisy, nursing staff lacks empathy and necessary training, etc. My family member was discharged with active C-Diff and a Stage 4 pressure wound. We were told that insurance would no longer cover "unnecessary treatment." Two minutes after discharge, I forgot to ask the Dr. (Dr. Potts) a question, and went back to ask him. His reply to me was, "He is discharged, and no longer my patient. You will have to get him to his primary care physician and ask them." ARE YOU KIDD... read more

It is a horrible place. Dark and grim, smelly, old building filled with the psychiatric patients. When the evening sets, they start screaming, running and acting. Then, the place resembles Bedlam. It is not possible to sleep. The level of noise from the patients, the loud music they play day or night, room call bells and machines approaches the industrial level requiring ear plugs or muffs to survive. Toilets are routinely unavailable. The place has numerous good nurses, but they cannot change how it is run. The management i... read more
