Don't go here for simple dermatology needs. Even after insurance the price is too much. Especially if you need more than 1 visit. Dr. Gutmark is cool but that's about it.
Appointment times are important to me. Patients should be notified when they have a lengthy wait time, and I was not notified of any delays. My procedure was meant to be very simple but regardless I'm not going back to a medical office that charges $75 cancellation fees and at the same time doesn't properly notify patients about their wait times.
I have been coming here for years and have not had a bad experience. Doctor Gutmark is amazing and has always done a great job. I had an incident today that was not handled well by the staff, and I felt like an inconvenience. I had scheduled an appointment a few weeks back, mentioning the type of appointment 3 times in the call. When I arrived today, it turns they had not scheduled it. In addition, an appointment that was set for 5 weeks down the line was also not booked correctly. When I asked if there was a record of who I... read more
They don't pick up the phone. They did not send in my prescription on Friday after my appointment so I didn't have it all weekend, they were out of office. I called in on Monday and told them I needed my prescription and she said she told the medical team. Still it wasn't sent in. I called Tuesday morning and same thing. I'm on the phone right not Tuesday afternoon and have been on hold for ten minutes while she asks someone. SO unprofessional.
My nephew was going here for quite some time, he had a severe psoriasis issue, which was addressed for a few months. Things were going fine until a more expensive and complicated medication was involved. The nurse at the time handling billing was putting all this pressure on him to help with the insurance information. When we tried to figure out what we should do on our part, we had received notification that they did not want to continue with us anymore. It was quite infuriating because the nurse made us feel extremely unco... read more
Terrible service- The front receptionists are rude and arrogant. The doctor runs around and has no time.

Had a great experience going in for a mole check. After checking in, I waited about 10 mins & the entire office visit was super quick! -Office was clean & spotless! (When reading reviews for other dermatologists in the area, this is an absolute PLUS) -Receptionist is very friendly, top notch service! -"Check in" is done via tablet: quick & easy -Waiting room was spacious & loved the calm music -The doctor was professional & very efficient! Many don't understand that she looks at moles all day long, so she knows right away wh... read more
Save your money and your time, this place is not worth it. The Dr. barely bothered to look at my skin and the appointment lasted less than 10 minutes. I left the appointment still concerned about my health and almost $100 poorer. I visited for a yearly check up with Dr. Gutmark, since I'm genetically prone to non-melanoma skin cancer. The office is very pretty and the staff was generally nice. The doctor and staff were huddled in a back area loudly chatting and laughing, which is always a nice vibe to walk into. Check in, pa... read more
Apparently DTLA Derm was acquired by California Skin Institute, and will now no longer refill my psoriasis medication without an additional doctor's visit. Even though Psoriasis is an incurable autoimmune condition. This is an incredibly cruel policy and a dermatologist should know better. After two years without an outbreak, having symptoms suddenly return is traumatic enough--why make things harder on your patients? I'm out of town at the moment and now have to figure out how to find another doctor to prescribe a medicatio... read more
