I'm writing this because i hope someone out there will be smart enough and will read this before going to that place and getting treated like a literal fool. Its not that this place is expensive , This place literally observes if you care enough about your pet with first two interviews with a doctor and if you are SLIGHTLY worried about you animal or seem concerned they literally triple the price ummm because they CAN! story begins with me going on with an emergency to a small poor rescued animal. I was told if i can pay 150... read more

Alexia, please know we take your comments seriously and are sorry to hear you feel this way. We understand veterinary care can be expensive which is why we go over our recommendations, review all costs and provide an estimate to make sure clients are comfortable with the plan. We can assure you that our team had your puppy's best interest in mind and did what they felt best in their professional opinion. We have reached out offline in hopes of addressing your concerns further but have not been able to get ahold of you. Pleas... read more
What a missed opportunity. I go to buy food but only bring my dogs there in an emergency. People are so unsatisfied with this vet ,they travel all the way to worth street for services. The vets here are very nice but they need a superstar i to bring in the clientele. I think they have a business model that is driven by spending as little money as possible. Bad news travels fast. .

I took my 4 year old cat here before bc they were close by and new.. my cat was kept for 2 days or so.. she wasnt getting better.. they recommended us to bring her to a 24hr hospital. we then made the decision to put her to sleep. i wish seaport clinic were honest with us from the get go.. instead of giving us false hopes and running up our bill..i felt like they were using our sympathy to run up our bill
I have been bringing my pets to the Tribeca animal hospital for years - and then started at the Seaport Animal Hospital because it was located within the coop where I live. Drs. Lester and Udoji were great. They are no longer working there. Then came Dr. Jeanne Klafin - a woman on the edge. Dr. Klafin is a poor listener and jumps to conclusions. She enjoys lecturing clients - and accusing them of actions they haven't taken. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Klafin who catheterized my male dog, on his back - for no good... read more

Thank you for sharing your experience, Barbara. Our primary concern is, and has always been, your pet's well-being. We do our best to provide exceptional veterinary care and excellent customer service, and we value having had you as a client for many years. We take your comments very seriously and have had numerous discussions with you about your pet. Once again, we are sorry for using a urinary catheter to obtain a urinary sample without informing you first. We have learned from this experience and are working hard to ens... read more
I was a big fan of this animal hospital until I had a pet person's nightmare occur there. Of course, I'll never know with 100% certainty but I do know this. Before I took my beloved cat in because she had a couple of open sores, which she tended to get in the winter, and to check whether she had tipped from pre-diabetic into diabetes, she was alert, feisty, friendly, eating, pooping, playing,grooming...in short, she was herself. Within HOURS after I took her in and she was diagnosed as diabetic and prescribed insulin (whi... read more
My dog goes in for a bath, comes out with $1000 in vet bills and had a minor heart attack after reacting to vaccines that she probably didn't even need but we were sold on. My dog barely goes outside. Then she continues to deteriorate for 2 days, we take her to AMC where she's admitted for 4 days and $3000. Turns out the vaccines caused her whole system to almost shut down and the vaccines might be "bad". No calls from AMC that they are sorry, we were told we might get half or our initial office visit back from the vacci... read more

I really wanted to like this place. So nice looking and convenient. Brought my 1 year old rescue Doxie mix here about 3 times and never seemed to walk out with a bill less then $300. Nothing was ever seriously wrong with her (thank G-d) but some precautionary questions about ears, skin, etc. The doctor will take the dog in the back, say she did X,Y and Z and then tell you to buy the medicines from the office and then theres your bill. I've had my dog for 6 months and spent over $1000 with them cause i'm a first time dog ... read more

Terrible service. They make up rules to make you purchase medication from them. I took my dog there less than a year ago and only bought a 6 month supply of his heart worm medication. When I tried to purchase more on 1-800-pet-meds because it was way cheaper there, they refused to release the prescription when it wasn't expired yet. I'm a doctor too, and if a patient calls to order a year supply of contacts a day before their prescription is expired I would release it. Even if 1800contacts called I would have to release it l... read more
Business response:
Thank you for your feedback, Diem. We apologize for any miscommunication regarding the release of your pet's prescription for heartworm meds. We are always willing to work with you and your designated pet meds supplier; however, we do have policies set forth regarding prescription refills. In fact, Dr. Lester approved a refill for you over a week ago. We just left you a message. Please contact us so that we can help you get this straightened out. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Update: I was contacted by the owner in response to my initial review. He explained that he was disheartened to hear about my experience, and that it shouldn't have happened. I still stand by my rating as my dog was subjected procedures without my consent, but at the very least it shows that perhaps someone at that business cares about customers (other than Dr. Udoji, of course). He originally stated that Dr. Udoji I again repeated the same lie about having told me everything, which is no surprise since she was talking to... read more

Your pet is our number one priority, and our veterinarians and staff work hard to ensure he receives the highest quality in veterinary medicine and care. To make your appointment more efficient, we typically take pets into the back to run tests and administer vaccines all in one place. We apologize for any miscommunication regarding the requested vaccines and tests to be run and in the f... read more
