We always say best food in Hilton Head, service was outstanding
After waiting 5 minutes at a high table, we moved to the bar to eat and it was great. The waiter at the table had so many tables he did not even notice us and we had a reservation.
Food and service were ok but not remarkable for the price. a gorgeous view and a great menu but execution is not spectacular.
First time visit and it was very good! I had the Grouper and the view was pleasant! I would try it again at a future date!
The ambiance and waterfront setting is superb. The wait staff was great. We got the crab stack and it was delicious. The risottos are typically delicious but this time were cold and bland. The food presentation is terrific but this time our food was so-so. The steaks were not even warm and seemed to be an inferior quality. SO for the money we spent, we were a little disappointed. We have been to ELA's 5 or 6 times and they have always been good before. Definitely will try again, but this time was not so great.
Restaurant was pretty. Menu looked great. Server had difficulty handling oyster order. Was annoyed when we asked that the raw oysters be served before the appetizer course. We ordered the grouper but it was dry and over cooked. We asked the server to bring another one and he advised us that there was nothing wrong with it and that a second one would be served the same way. Very rude and defensive. I dined with 2 friends at Ela's on the water. I had the special, Grouper pan sautéed with grits and a kitchen sink aioli. The aioli made the dish, but I had to ask for an additional serving of the aioli. One friend had Ela's crabcakes which she said were very good.
Every single thing we ordered was fantastic. It was the best meal we had this week. So good in fact, we came back on the last night of our trip
Great food as always and love the outside view! Our go to when in Hilton head!
