This was our second visit to Ela's after a one year absence. And time hasn't affected the quality of the food experience we had there. Outstanding, creative seafood and beef dishes add something very special to the waterside ambiance. The location is slightly off the beaten path which adds to the quiet surroundings and lack of crowds. We liked our repeat visit so well that we dined there a few nights later with guests of ours.
Six of us all celebrating wedding anniv. Food was excellent. Always is. A special place with a great view of the harbor at Shelter Cove.
Very nice atmosphere with a great view. Food was very good, except calamari was prepared differently and should be explained either on the menu or by the waiter. The banks were not that comfortable, and parking lots were filled. Otherwise, a good place to go.
Had a delightful evening and our waiter was super. His suggestions and recommendations were spot on. The restaurant focuses on quality not, quantity. The scallops were superb, light and flavorful. Not overdone and the crab cakes were all crab with a delightful sauces that included capers which really topped off the dish. We will definitely return.
Parking is horrendous. We had to call and move our reservation ahead a half hour just trying to find a place to park. They were very accommodating about that. It was very loud up on the top floor where we were seated. Our drinks (wine and an old fashioned) were fine but very expensive. I ordered a caprese salad and the charcuterie board. They were both adequate. My husband had the grouper which was very small for the price.
We have eaten here four times now and always loved it. This visit, however; food AND service were lacking. Was the end of the night, so they weren't busy. Not sure if we will return next year. Not cheap to dine here, so expect much better!
I have been vacationing at Hilton Head for 25 years, in all of that time I have never had a better dining experience than what we have received at Ela's. Year after year the food , service and atmosphere has been consistently top drawer. A vacation at Hilton Head is not complete without dinner at this wonderful location. The food is out of this world. You will not be disappointed.
Very good food from fried green tomatos to wedge salad to shrimp and grits
Service was excellent, water are perfect, food was great.
