Ela's is must stop for us since we discovered it. The seafood is fabulous and fresh. Try the scallops and their house specialty crabcake. The calamari starter is fresh, tender and will not disappoint. We find the wine list notable and reasonably and fairly priced. The service is usually terrific but on this visit our server was a bit snooty. Great place to dine on Hilton Head Island.
Arrived after sunset but the view of the adjacent marina at night was quite charming. Went with another couple on a Wednesday night. Not too busy. Might be nosier on a crowded weekend. Everyone enjoyed their entrees both the seafood and the steak selections. The appetizers were also excellent. I particularly enjoyed the chilled lobster cocktail. Highly recommended.
Our first visit and certainly not our last. We dined during the first week in November on a Monday evening which proved to be a slow night during the off season for HHI. That being said, the meal from beginning to end may have been the best meal we have had on the island in over twenty plus years. We had an outstanding experience here. I am not a scallops person but my dinner of 4 fresh scallops coupled with the crab risotto was a taste of heaven. My wife had the macadamia banana crusted Mahi Mahi and that was equally delicious. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were done perfectly and then split a pear/arugula salad. A wonderful experience all around with food, wine and service - and especially the guitar player in the bar during dinner. With all this, the view of Shelter Cove Harbor during sunset put it over the top. Very romantic.
Definately will return! A fabulous Hilton Head find! Menu is limited but upscale. Music from the bar was pleasant, but not intrusive.
Lived Ela's! Wonderful find tucked in by the harbour. We ate later so missed the sunset. Great Service from Franchesca our food was wonderful. Oysters were superb. Calamari yummy. ;) Son enjoyed his steak. The mahi was flavorful and my my husband really raved about the scallops on the crab risotto! Would return in a heartbeat!
