Many reasonably priced bottles of wine. We shared an arugula salad with Gorgonzola, almonds and apples which was quite good. Dinners were a black grouper special which was excellent and the soft shell crab blt from the menu. Not sure that the bacon butter really adds anything positive to the dish. Rainy night so we were inside but a very nice view.
The pictorial view overlooking the water, sunset and ships at harbor is beautiful. The restaurant is quite enough to carry on a conversation even with the live music. The food is very well prepared, displayed and you won't leave hungry. The wait staff is knowledgeable of the nice wine list. The dessert tray is too tempting to share just one with a good cup of coffee.
By far the best new restaurant on the island...even though its been open for almost a year, I still consider it to be new to our island. The atmosphere, views, and food are consistently perfect along with great service...(good, clean looking staff)... Price may be on the higher side for some, but if you want quality for your buck then this is by far the spot...The strip steak and scallops are amazing, as well as the calamari. Great little place, tucked away with beautiful views. Diver scallops and the fried grouper was absolutely amazing. The osysters on the half shell we superb and fresh as I have ever have. Great place for that "special" dinner.
Very nice restaurant with great views. A la carte type menu was the only negative for us. So salads and starch had to be ordered seperatly. The was live music on Friday night consiting of a one man band that was nice suprise. We would go back again.
Food was a little pricey. Soft shell crab should have had a veggie included for $30. Waitress recommended a Portugal VINE wine that was excellent for $28 a bottle. Next time we would ask to be seated OUTSIDE.
Ela's was by far the best dining experience we had in our visit to Hilton Head. From the food, service, views and great wine selections, everything was outstanding. It is hard to imagine why some people would complain about a restaurant being out of fresh seafood on a sunday night. If that is your only issue, I would suggest you eat at any of the many restaurants that are happy to save money and ensure quantity by loading up on cheaper frozen fish.
