Terrible experience. After we closed on our house we called to get our oil tank filled to our surprise the tank needed to be replaced we had Sherwoods complete our home inspection and in the report they didnt mentioned any issue with the tank. So I called and spoke with Dave Sherwood and he told me we didn't pay for an oil tank inspection. And Insisted we get a second opinion from a company he recommended who also said the tank needed to be replaced. Absolutely horrible. Paid more money than other companies thinking you get what you pay for but not in this case. Every single "problem" they wrote in the report "beyond this inspectors scope to assess, get a certified (electrician, plumber, chimney, etc) to conduct inspection" So what did we pay for? Then we did get the "certified" inspectors and each found $2,000-$10,000 worth of fixes... AFTER we closed. At time of inspection, inspector gave incorrect phone number for credit card payment and so although I gave credit card information was given over the phone, payment was not received by the office. Inspector denied any knowledge of that.
It must be 0 ratings.Not properly inspected. After inspection we buy home and there were many faults in home. Gutter, roof, attic, bellow the porch not checked. I spend more than 20k but house still need more work then it's needed. I wouldn't recomended to other. Choose other than Sherwook Inspection Service.
I thought I had a positive experience with this inspection service, but I realized I had been set up. The service person had me do a review immediately after inspection and I wouldn't be any wiser that a few months later I would find multiple gas leaks, 2 HVAC issues and not even one working smoke detector or fire alarm. This place is trash, I would never recommend. I also called the office and the receptionist lied saying a manager would call me back, and never did! This is a scam!
The inspection performed by Sherwood Inspection Services on August 1, 2018 was both dissatisfying and uncomfortable. Prior to their inspection, I had already had a licensed contractor out to inspect the home for mold after viewing mold on the bedroom ceiling during a walk-through. This contractor determined the cause was actively leaking water lines coming off the A/C air handler in the attic, soaking the insulation and the sheet-rock. I flipped a house and used Sherwood for the inspection before purchasing the property. I was told there was minor termite damage to the floor joists in the crawl space and that it was not a big deal. We did some minor repairs to it and moved on. Once the rehab was completed my buyer also used Sherwood for the inspection and their inspector told them that the termite damage was extensive and needed to be addressed. This company is terrible. Sure-would have picked another inspection company if I could have a do over. Lousy customer service, horrible communication, and incomplete inspection. Stay away!

Do not use this service. The guy they sent came on time. But that's about the only professionalism he displayed. He rushed the inspection, missed a number of defects, and his report was VERY unsatisfactory. He failed even to respond to inquiries. But he did insist on having us fill out his survey at the end of the inspection. That's the only thing this guy cared about. If you are going to force customers to fill out 5-star ratings, then at least do your job right. Rude and unprofessional. Waste of time and money. Stay away... read more
