It has been two year since I left Skyland and my life has only continued to improve since them. I credit eveone I met there for helping me get healthy. They saw things in me that I didn't even know was wrong and helped me fix my mind, body, and spirit. I don't know where I would be today without them.
The best treatment center I’ve been to. The staff cares for you and everyone learns your name. The community is like a family and you really get the one on one care that you need when you’re having a tough time in life. I’m so thankful my aunt who is a therapist directed my mom to skyland Trail when I was having a breakdown and very depressed. Skyland bought me back to life and got me on the track I needed. It’s not to say that you will completely feel 100% better after being in treatment but the therapist and team teach you... read more
It’s been a couple years since I was a patient at Skyland Trail, but the campus is very beautiful. Just about every person there was very kind and helpful, but they also knew when to make you work, so to speak. I seriously hated it on Day 1 and then didn’t ever want to leave when my treatment was over.
I attended Skyland Nov. 2015 - Feb. 2016 so the staff may have changed. My comments are based on this time period. The staff at the south residence wasn’t bad, but most definitely subpar to the fine care on campus.. (Negative attitudes, little/very limited knowledge of CBT and DBT skills and strategies.) However... The culinary staff was AMAZING! They were always so positive, made an effort to learn our names, and even remembered some of the foods we liked. Also, I particularly loved the horticulture, music, and art the... read more
I do not expect to have another visit. A slightly longer lunch period would be nice. A little better signage in the hallways may also help but that was not a significant problem. Overall i had/have very few issues.
Skyland Trail has been my source of help inpatient and outpatient around 4 years. It is the most supportive environment for mental health in the Atlanta. I can honestly say that the DBT Counseling and Skills Group have been my lifeline to overcome 17 years of great suffering from Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder.
Very knowledgeable and insightful. He really helped me through a very dark time. Compassionate but challenging when needed.
