I'm a captive customer since I'm overseas, but in six years, I've seen the monthly rate increase from $175 to $266. Their "rationale" claims it is due to increased operational costs. With interest rates essentially flat, that justification is nonsense. The customer service, in my experience, is terrible with their local manager, Brandi, refusing to respond to my complaints about their system failures. I regret using their facilities.

I rented a 10x 10 unit five months ago to store some boxes while we moved from Ventura county to San Marcos. I found the facility to be extremely clean and convenient. I thought the facility was very safe and kept our belongings secure. The personnel at the facility were always helpful and good natured. I have finally moved all our boxes into our home so we don't need the unit any longer. Take your business else where!!!! Not only are the prices ridiculous here but you are also FORCED to buy insurance that covers nothing. Recently many customers have complained about RAT DROPPINGS and although they say they are "fixing" the issue, they are telling us that the insurance doesn't cover this?!? So I'm paying these people $150 a month so rats can destroy my valuables? And to top it off the person in the office tells me to just throw some black pepper all over my unit so that no rats will "come in". Great customer ... read more

Brandi, the manager, is fantastic! The minute we walked in the door we knew we would be well cared for. The facility is clean, quiet, and secure. They even have climate-controlled units, which we ended up getting because we needed a place to store our beloved bottles of wine. We are currently traveling full time, and Brandi offered to accept our shipped boxes of wine and stash them in our unit! How cool is that??

Just a few words about Stax Up Storage, a storage facility within San Marcos. As a customer, I rented a storage unit for personal belongings for about five years before moving on. This place rocks! I came in last minute before closing and the young lady at the front desk was extremely patient and considerate of my lack of knoweeledge of storage sizes and what I needed to properly store all my belongings. She took me on a walk through and knew exactly what I was looking for simply by telling her the size of my current apartment. I'm blessed to have found stax up with such clean spaces and awesome customer service I will tell all my friends and family

I've had my precious things in storage with StaxUp for over 2-years now, and although it's costing me a fortune because I'm unable to afford a large enough rental to be housed with all of my possessions; I've got the security in knowing things I'm unwilling to part with, are safe and protected in this clean facility. I recommend this self storage to everyone I know. The owners are so awesome and kind. Their prices and hours are also the best in San Marcos. I have previously rented units with other facilities and have not had the same level of care. The grounds are clean. The units have excellent location so you never have to haul your stuff very far. I feel very confident in storing my belongings with them.
