They completely changed their menu. We got up and walked out. It is not the same Stonecreek it used to be. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Will never go back! They took a lot of favorites off of the menu.
Stone Creek moved to a new location in Montgomery. The parking is better and they have an outdoor eating area but in the evening with it’s west exposure it is sunny and hot. They have umbrellas but they don’t move or adjust to block the sun. We sat inside in a large booth which sides up to the bar. If the bar gets busy the booths will be noisy. First time visiting new location. Will not go again. One server over the entire crowded bar area. Sat at a bar table when the sun was going down we were blinded for about 45 minutes. Looks like there’s a shade but no one could figure it out. Four meals - two appeared and we waited 3-4 minutes for the other meals. Drinks were O.K. Second round was mixed up by the server both similar color but wrong drink gave to guest. Too many great places to go nearby then to have a so so experience .
We arrived on a Sunday at noon. We had viewed the lunch menu online before arriving. We sat on the patio and our waitress brought us a menu of appetizers, salads, and entrees. This was clearly not the lunch menu we had viewed online so we asked her if there was a lunch menu. She said that on Sunday there is only one menu. Enjoyed our evening, but the reception at front desk was lacking in welcome and efficiency.
Food was just okay...
The food was decent, but nothing compared to other CRG restaurants. Drinks were absolutely awful. We ordered three different cocktails and they contained so much alcohol that we could not even drink them. No flavor whatsoever other than pungent alcohol. As for the food, my scallops were cold, my mother’s shrimp and grits were bland, and they dropped my sister’s ribs and had to remake more. Service was very slow. It took almost an hour to get our food and the restaurant wasn’t that full. Overpriced for what you get. Trying too hard to be upscale.
My experience at their new location was much worse than when we had previously dined here before they relocated. The new restaurant has a sterile atmosphere (think: fancy Frisch's) and the service was not particularly great. The food was good overall, but the atmospherics and service were definitely lacking.
