My dad lived in Los Altos over 60 years. He had many opportunities to visit friends in retirement communities all over the county. When it came time to make the move himself, he chose Sunny View. He really liked the neighborhood feel, the elegant but casual surroundings, and the friendliness of staff and residents. He enjoyed the excellent food, the gym, and the lovely landscaping as well as his roomy alcove apartment. Our family accompanied him through the intake process and visited him regularly. My parents have lived in this retirement community since 2011 and have loved their stay. No wonder there's a long waiting list. The staff here is excellent - supportive, conscientious and responsive. The current director Bella and her team including Agnes and Betty have gone out of their way in looking after my parents. At least in their Sunny View West wing they have either studio or one bedroom apartments. These are well maintained. There are two apartment inspections a year to ensure that stay arrangements and upkeep is... read more

My mother has been at Sunnyview almost 5 years now. She's been very happy there. There are so many activities offered it keeps her busy and she enjoys that. The grounds are lovely and relaxing. The staff has been wonderful and efficient. The food is great too!

My Mom has lived in Sunny View for 6 years now. They renovated her alcove apartment before she moved in and she loves it. She loves the nonrestrictive and friendly staff and feels safe there.

My mother (97) has lived at Sunny View for over two years and it has been great. We looked at a number of places in the Palo Alto area, but Sunny View was clearly her favorite. The main physical difference between Sunny View and so many other places are the open gardens and courtyards. it allows her to walk around and not feel at all "closed" in. With the facility being mainly one story and spread out, the grounds really give an expansive feeling. But more important than the facilities are the people. They are terrific.... read more
