I hate this place but I also don't hate this place. Confused? So am I. I worked with Jerry to do some wedding arrangements but all fake flowers. I didn't want to drop a ton of money just to watch my money die. My initial appointment with Jerry went great but I went in too early because the flowers (peonies) I requested weren't available until the spring and it was fall when I went in. I requested 2 display stand floral arrangements, I saw one I thought was pretty so I requested them to look like that but with more flowers an... read more

My boyfriend ordered me a dozen red roses from Sylvia's this past Valentine's Day, and I loved them. Being a satisfied customer, he decided to order another dozen red roses with baby's breath for my mother's 60th birthday. Unfortunately, the roses she received were absolutely atrocious. My jaw dropped the second I saw them -- ripped and dry petals, dead leaves, black tips, and discoloration. To their credit, the baby's breath and most of the greens were beautiful. Of course, I immediately contacted the flower shop and expl... read more

Business response:

Judy, First of all, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. While I'm glad to hear that you loved your flowers that you received from us for Valentine's Day, I am very disappointed to learn about your most recent experience about your mother's 60th birthday roses. I am glad that Gerald was so helpful in refunding you and apologetic about your experience, but I'm sorry that this happened. We have quality controls in place to avoid something like this from happening. Additionally, we buy most of our flowers directly fro... read more

I went to Sylvia's flowers for an arrangement for my mothers funeral. I'm sorry I went there. I had only one request. I asked for her picture centered in the middle of a wreath. I picked out a wreath from a catalog they have at a table up front. I didn't like the colors of the flowers, so I asked for soft colors. They wouldn't show me what flowers they were going to use. They wouldn't even tell me how big the wreath would be. All they said was "that'll be $200 please". When I arrived at the funeral home and saw what they had... read more

I went to Sylvia's because that was the florist my mom had 40 some years ago for her wedding. Since then they have changed hands and I was very disappointed in the service I received when we went there for a consult 11/8/14. We met with Rich who was 25 minutes late for our appointment. That is not a good start in my book. Then when we finally sat down to start sharing our vision of our big day he rudely brushed off all of them saying oh no that wont work or no we cant use this here but we can put it here in the corner. He wa... read more

I met with Rich a while back to talk about my flowers. For some reason, I did not get the most friendly vibe from him... he was polite, but there was just something off that made it seem like he wasn't really happy to create my wedding bouquets. Also, whoever else works at that place (there were 2 different ladies) were extremely rude the two times I went there. Because of that, I did not expect much from my flowers on my wedding day... however, the flowers were beautiful! I got hot pink and light pink roses and babys breat... read more

I have pretty much avoided Sylvia's since they did my wedding flowers years ago. Our designer was a snob and couldn't be bothered returning my calls. The flowers turned out fine, except for the cake topper which was an embarrassment. In the scheme of things, a minor thing but enough reason for me not to spend my money there again. Anyway, I'm looking for a tall (4-5') bamboo houseplant for a birthday gift so I stopped in there. They haven't changed a bit. "Do you have any lucky bamboo plants?" "(smirk) No. (sneer) Try ... read more

At first Rich was nice, easy to work with, and was respectful of my budget. My FLOWERS were beautiful. The bouquets and unity candle arrangement looked gorgeous. The centerpieces, which I had planned with Rich to be floating candles in vases with translucent gel beads and ivory pearls turned out to be a nightmare. I had brought in a set-up to show Rich and he said it would not be a problem to re-create for my wedding. I had calculated numerous times how many translucent gel beads to purchase from an outside source. On t... read more

Upon the original consultation, I was in heaven. Over the course of time between first consulation and wedding day, I started to worry a little. I then went in for my final consulation where I requested a mock up of my floral arrangements. The designer, Rich, made a beautiful arrangment at the cost of $125. The flowers died 2 days later. Move to the wedding day. The driver from Sylvia's was late showing up to the church; thus, my own family was making the arrangements and setting up vases WHILE MY GUESTS WERE ARRIVING!... read more
