Our first impression was with the female cashier she was unfriendly short with us and couldn't care less if we were there or not. The two Quesa tacos I had were OK, they were supposed to be Carne Asada, but they were really being tacos with a tiny bit of meat in them. They lacked depth the flavor and the guacamole was green goop, way too expensive for what I received
Good sized restaurant with plenty of seating. Service was great- very attentive and food came out quick. We did a taco tour so we only ordered an asada taco and an adobada taco. The adobada taco won me over here. It was super saucy and flavorful.
I think this place slaps. I prefer it over tacos el Gordos. The service is quick and friendly. The space is not for large parties but you can make it work. When I eat here, I eat outside - the place needs better ventilation system. It's Smokey inside and you'll definitely smell like it
We were so excited to stop by on a whim while passing by but left disappointed. Fast service, you get your food quickly even with a long line, staff was pleasant. Food was ehh, the flavoring on the adobada tasted like chorizo initially and the spices they use are a tad overwhelming, i know nailing good adobada is not easy but it definitely should not be the first choice of meat offered. Guacamole was not flavored well either, the only that tasted good was the fries on their own.
Michelin star taco joint! Count me in intrigued! Like I said before, when in San Diego, one must get some tacos. I was also determined to not eat at the same taco place twice so I had to go here since OH IT IS NEW TO ME. Busy as heck in here. It is in the middle of the Gaslamp District and with having a Michelin star I guess that's a caveat to it. Now what did I order? I ordered three tacos. One was carne asada I believe while the other two were al pastor. They all tasted great but my mind wasn't blown away or anything. I ... read more
It's nice to see more taco spots pop out throughout the city. We were recently on a little staycation in downtown so decided to stop by here for dinner before watching the bay parade of lights nearby. My kids love tacos and fries so we figured this would be quick and easy. It's right smack in the middle of the gaslamp so parking was not the most ideal but after circling a bit we found a close spot. There are plenty of seats all around and I didn't walk past the counter but it looks like a lot more seating back there as w... read more
Suadero 3/5 It's too juicy the tortilla falls apart. Asada 5/5 Adobada 5/5 Happy I tried this place I would come back for the Al pastor alone it's the best I've tasted. It's a little pricey but it's downtown San Diego. I look forward to trying the TJ location. I give 5 stars because it's better than a 4.1 which is the current rating.
Business response:
Gracias Alessandro! Thank you so much for your review!! We get lots of fake reviews and hate from our competitors. To us, all tha matters is that we get to serve people like you. Gracias!
Awesome location downtown. Close to everything gaslamp... but w the downtown difficulties of finding parking (as to always be expected). The venue is well marked, well lit, and plenty of seating. There's a counter to order and easy to read menu. You get only a small peek into the kitchen .. but you can see the beloved adobada meat spit rotating from the front. We ordered a variety of tacos and mixture fries. Tacos are standard street tacos... adobada is the meat to get. It was fantastic, juicy, and extremely well flavored. ... read more
I took it to go and the Adobado got a lil messed up but was the best tasting of the two. The Asada was not bad but in comparison to other places nearby, it lacked luster (seasoning and smokiness).
