The restaurant took the booking over OpenTable but would not serve us when we arrived.
Food was good , service was CRAP. We've ordered before many people but good came very very very late and staff were not helpful.
On arrival the restaurant was closed for renovations with zero notification. Disappointing.
Despite an early sitting with few diners, staff whilst pleasant were inattentive. It took almost 40 mins to order and receive drinks. Crispy duck and pancakes for 2 at £16 appeared generous on the plate until we discovered a thin layer of meat on top of a dome of lettuce. Main courses were fine and enjoyed by all. It took three attempts to get the bill.
They took too long to attend to us and take our food order. Poor customer service.
I feel it should be told that the measures here are wrong for some drinks and therefore over priced. I was charged £5 for a 25ml measure of Baileys. That should be the price and measure size of whisky. Baileys is the same class as port or a liqueur and should be in a 50ml measure. At £5 a 25ml measure they make £200 out of a £15 bottle. Beware when you order. Otherwise the food was good and nice place, so a shame about the measures.
I have been here before a couple of times & usually the food and service is good. However, I turned up for a lunch booking and they had clearly overbooked. They tried to say I didn’t have a booking (which I did) and that they had cancelled it (which they hadn’t). The staff left us waiting a long time without even acknowledging us & did not even apologise for cancelling my booking whilst I was actually there! I don’t normally leave reviews unless something is outstandingly good or shockingly poor. Well, this was certainly the latter. This wasn’t my choice of venue and I didn’t expect much. However, the welcome was rude with barely a word spoken and then I remained seated for nearly 30mins without being asked if I required anything.
