Great location, price and value! The building is old and the rooms could maybe use some updating, but honestly, it's a historic building so overall it was pretty charming. Excellent location right outside the Loop in downtown Chicago and a quick walk to the train. The room wasn't cheap but it was competitively priced for the area. Location was great with beautiful views, but hotel is old and worn. Room service came at 3 pm which didn’t work for us. Loud construction on the floor above us forcing us to change rooms after 2 days. Rude front desk employee. Restaurants are mediocre. Location

Great value hotel for the centre of Chicago, with clean rooms and excellent location This hotel is great value if you want to stay in the centre of the City. It’s right on Michigan Avenue opposite Grant Park. Lots of things are an easy walk and it’s well served by busses and the L is just 5 minutes away. Overnight in Chicago. The decoration and condition of some of the public areas needs some tlc. Fine old hotel, in a splendid position overlooking Lake Michigan. The facilities are good, though somewhat ol-fashioned. We have stayed at the hotel several times, mainly for it's position.
