Horrible customer service when you have a billing problem -- they farm out there billing to people in the Philippines -- you can't cancel your membership -- they don't answer emails or they have you call the Philippines for customer service The gym is always packed and people just sit on there phones between sets -- all the equipment is old -- they bring in a new piece of equipment every 6 months -- there's no parking ---

I signed up for a membership at Edge Fitness (Stratford, CT) in April 2025. At the time of signup, I was not told it was a fixed 12-month contract -- I was led to believe I could cancel at any time. When I attempted to cancel a few months later, I was denied and told I could only cancel for medical or relocation reasons. This was never disclosed to me during signup, nor was I shown the full contract in advance. When I raised this issue, I was met with boilerplate responses and no resolution. Deceitful business practices. save yourself an headache. abide by their 30 day cancellation rules. do it exactly how on the exact date the sales person tells you. Then charge you a day earlier, steal your money and refuse to refund you stating it's not their policy to refund their customers. Not worth the aggravation

First off, I don't understand why incorrect online hours are posted. I came in tonight because checking the safari hours, says close 12:00am from Mon-Fri. Came in 8:30 and was told that the gym closes at 9. People drive to gym, the least that could be done was actually post the right hours. Secondly, I do not understand why women's room door is unlocked most of the time (without the swipe of the ID). What a shame that what I once thought was the best gym, is now the absolute worst. They have completely let this gym go down hill. They no longer keep up with cleaning, including the rest rooms. They continue to keep signing new clients with no regards to the wear and tear of the equipment. I frequent this gym seven days a week. One week this year, I left with 3-4 pieces of equipment broken, and returned three days later to find 7-8 pieces of equipment broken. Worst customer service I have experienced my whole life. The Manager of the branch (Stratford, CT) is not at all helpful. Situation: I have been trying to cancel my personnel training membership since Christmas but the Manager was on leave for 2 weeks till new year's eve and when I reached out to her on January 1st, She told me its a 30 days notice to cancel the membership. Horrible gym --- they have 3 flat benches and about 6/7 moveable benches --- no gym etiquette whatsoever by 75% of the people there --- if you use a bench and get up and move away for 20-30 seconds and you aren't covering your bench with a do not use sign -- your workouts done --- zero parking --- gym is trash

I moved back to ct from Florida because my grandfather got really sick and I was a member of the edge and when I moved back to Florida I called to cancel my membership it was past it's one year mark so I can leave at any time they asked me to email them so it can be canceled and I had a payment coming up I had to pay I said ok and did and called back everything was fine I was making really good money at the time and did not see I was being charged my membership still well I change backs and now they can't take the money that... read more

While I appreciate EdgeCares reaching out, we both know that there isn't anything practical the company can do to alleviate my grievances. You can get an ok workout there if you are willing to put up with mobs of people and waiting times for equipment.
