Dinner November 7. Turkey sandwich for me. Mussels for my wife. Weak if not poor service. So-so food.
Had lunch there today with my husband. Food was mediocre, service was slow, and the bill was $50 (no alcohol). Maybe we got them on an off day. Beautiful place, may try again. Lots of well-placed TVs for watching football.
My cousin and I went to have a few drinks here last night, and that's just it 2 shots and one mixed drink. We dance for a while between the dark room and upstairs. Apparently when I wasn't headed back up the stairs I was stumbling ( I wasn't I have a disability) anywho we were up stairs and she continued to dance but I needed to sit and let my feet rest. Took a half an hour for appetizer. Then an hour for our cold entree. All items were salty. Filet Oscar was not how it was described. There was three flakes of crab meat next to filet. Again...salty. I know many restaurants with quality filet and crab stuffing.....that are 100% better than what I waited for, what I could not eat due to salt. The potatoes, broccoli and asparagus were cold when the came out. What a disappointment. Did I say it was too salty? :)
Wow, just wow. Staff is not in tune at all. Came at 4:40 pm and planned on rooftop seating. Enter the restaurant and asked for rooftop seating. We were told to see the host upstairs. Went to the host upstairs said would like sitting on the rooftop. We were told we needed to see the host outside. So there are three hostess, I guess that's good. Very rude staff, not the waitstaff or the bartenders!
After being away from Grand Haven for a year I came back for a bar crawl around town. Tonight -- the Friday of Memorial Day weekend -- I visited the Kirby expecting the same fun atmosphere. The occupancy was nowhere near that of Coast Guard Fest or the like at approximately 1:00am. Ugh! I just posted in the wrong place! Anyways, I'm wondering how many people have also gotten sick recently from eating at The Kirby? We had pizza upstairs celebrating our son's birthday on Saturday the 25th. The service was good.
