Get directionsThings are still new. So far I think that communication could be a little better. Some little things haven't been done, that we asked to be done. They don't always call right away, but there can be circumstances too. The food is wonderful. There are two sides, there is the more independent side and the memory care side.
My husband and I were very impressed with the facility. Emeritus in Rocky Hill is a beautiful facility and we are very pleased to have found such a pleasant "home" for Mom.
We ended up choosing this community, and it is good so far. They could improve on keeping personal items with that person. My mother-in-law came in with seven pairs of pants and they are all missing now. Apparently there is problems with the laundry, but supposedly they have changed their procedures. She shares a room. They take them out about once a week or so to different places like art museums and shopping centers. Overall we are satisfied.
Assisted living $3975 for alcove studio and care costs start at $200/mo. Community fee is $3000!
Administration is absolutely horrible if you need any sort of care. Essentially they evicted a 90 year veteran after requiring him to have private pay 24 hour care. The actual facility is beautiful and the staff working with residents are great but their headship team is awful.
Business response:
Were sorry that your time with us did not work out, but unfortunately there are some needs that exceed our capabilities. Its not always easy to know prior to someone moving in what those behaviors might be, but we have to do what's in the best interests of each resident. We wish you the best.
I think they could improve on the aids attitude. Some of them were nasty. The place is nicely decorated
With the change in administration, the facility lost many of their seasoned employees. Services started to go down, and incidents of both Covid and bedbugs picked up. The administration was unwilling to address many of the issues that my cousins asked them to address about my mother's situation, and therefore we choose to move her to a different facility. The new administration seemed more focused on profit than the health and welfare of its residents.
Overall I needed to give all categories a 2, but there were definitely care staff members who cared very much for their residents but simply were not provided sufficient resources and staffing. The residential rooms were very nice, but there was insufficient staffing and materials to engage residents. There were individuals who were quite caring but staff were not provided sufficient resources and training to optimize the residents memory care experience.

I feel if I had found a better facility, she might have lived a longer and happier existence. I would let others know that this is not a good place for people suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia.
