Had the price fix with a free poseco after showing play tickets. Arrived for lunch a little before 12:00 but as the restaurant filled the noise level continued to rise. Hard to carry on a conversation at a table for two. Food and service were very good so would return

Great for a very large party. Food is good and service friendly. Place feels a bit rundown, especially on basement level where restrooms are located.

This place is fabulous! We had an early reservation and of course were seated immediately. Upon our arrival there were two glasses of champagne waiting for us. On the reservation it asked about any special occasions and yes, it was our 35 wedding anniversary. The service and food were exceptional. It is normal NYC fine dining prices, but for this kind of occasion well worth it. I had the special halibut and my husband had the tuna - both great. We definitely recommend it. Excellent food. Nice wine list. A bit expensive. The antipasto bar is the best! Had the lobster and shrimp arrabiata pasta. Very good but not too spicy. A bit lively and noise level is high. Overall a very nice place with good food.

This restaurant had a great ambiance and buzz! The problem is that you are rushed to eat fast. While enjoying the appetizers, the entrees are being delivered at the same time. The food is good but served only at room temperature. It is obvious that it is prepared ahead and waiting around. The experience does not give you a pleasant dining opportunity!

There’s no better greeting at any of the 12,000 restaurants in New York City then at Trattoria! The food is the best because they skimp on nothing. Favorite joint for 30 years !

We ordered an appetizer and two main courses. The appetizer, octopus and squid, which came in a heavy red sauce, was unappealing and not what we were expecting. My wife ordered the Salmon for her main course, and it was very good. I ordered Chicken Piccata Milanese, and it was very heavily battered and deep fried, with very thin slices of artichoke hearts on top, not what I was expecting. The appetizer arrived promptly, but the main courses took much too long to arrive. So, two out of three things we ordered were disappointi... read more

Great food and service. Annoyed by very small pours for wine. Wine overpriced for what you get.
