It was a wonderful evening ,the service ,food and atmosphere was delightful. The neighborhood is wonderful.
Terrific food and good service especially for a restaurant packed with pre-theater diners. The only issue is the noise -- incredibly loud, which creates a sense of crowding.
My dinner companion had the chicken parm which was excellent...and enormous! I had the antipasto choice of three vegetables - spinach, asparagus and Brussels sprouts - all of which were cold though the menu stated they wouldbe served warm. I also ordered the bowl of meatballs which were also cold and not very flavorful. The wine was delicious, the service lovely even though the restaurant was packed with tables quite close together and therefore very noisy. Great meal, allow 2 full hours before the show at Carnegie, which is just across the street.
Have been going to Tratoria on and off for over a decade. Service remains a positive constant. Friendly and seemingly happy staff. Always good but very very crowded, at least pre theater. Perfect for Carnegie Hall event. Loved having an impeccable men's room, with an attendant. Says the kitchen probably was the same.
We originally dined here about tens years ago and not knowing my way around NY I have finally found it again. My husband and I went the first night and cancelled our reservations and sat at the antipasto bar the next night. The staff truly makes you feel like a long lost relative. We love it so muc!
I've lived in NYC for 30 years and dine out frequently. Our waiter for Saturday lunch at Trattoria Dell'Arte was the friendliest and funniest in all that time. We changed our reservation from 6 to 9 at the last minute - no problem. We arrived with a cranky 2 1/2 year old - no problem. Some of our party arrived 15 minutes late - no problem. Our waiter related to everyone from our toddler to her 80-year-old grandmother with equal charm and aplomb. He even provided one of the more memorably hammy (yet charming) renditions of "h... read more
Really enjoyed the experience. Never had a meal so quick though. Very slick the way they operate! Would def recommend it for a quick tasty bite and really handy for the theatre
