I have eaten at Trattoria Dell'Arte many times. When I arrived on Sunday I was told they had a nice table for us upstairs. Downstairs did not look full. Upstairs was a dark, nearly empty low-ceilinged room. I do not know why we were seated there but it was a totally different and not better experience than eating downstairs. We should have complained. The food, as usual, was excellent. One comment on the wine--two of my friends ordered the pinot grigio by the glass. I noticed the make because it had recently been served at a... read more

The warm welcome started when I entered. The bread arrived shortly. The waiter was helpful and efficient. The food was delicious. We shared a main dish and it came split. Since the portions are large this was a good idea. At the end of the meal there was a surprise of delicious cookies. It left such a pleasant feeling; I felt valued.

We had the soft shell crab special which was nicely prepared and the lasagne - both were delicious. Nice selection - fish, meats, Italian dishes, pizza, antipasti and a great location near Carnegie Hall and Columbus Circle. Food is always perfectly prepared and selection ensures that there is something to please everyone.

i had not been here in awhile, but the food was so very much better than it used to be. (altho always good, it was never outstanding.) the vegetarian pizza was spectacular, and this is one of the few places i've been able to get burrata, which was also delicious, and made me feel like i was bk in italy. the wines were a little pricey, but also quite good....and our server was helpful with our choice, and very attentive. i will definitely start coming bk here when in the carnegie hall area.
