Always a solid choice. Great food, attentive service. Atmosphere a little stuffy, but the place itself isn't. (Lots of old-school New Yorkers, who may stare at you if you're under 40, but it's worth braving the looks for the great food and service.)
Excellent food and the maitre'd was very nice and helpful. A bit pricey but definitely worth it especially for a special occasion.
It was a great location across from Carnegie Hall. The food was good, the service seemed a bit rushed. The noise level was loud. It felt a bit cramped and the waiter kept bumping my chair every time he passed. The desserts were really good and very large.
Great location near Carnegie Hall
Perfect pre-Carnegie Hall performance meal. They sat us immediately for our 6 pm reservation, great service knowing we had a show to get to. Went out of their way to accomodate my mother and her oxygen machine. Best of all, great food and wine for a reasonable (new york) price. Would definitely go again.
We had a party of 6 and two people were from Germany. The entire experience was wonderful. The service was perfect from the time we arrived at 7pm. We were not rushed and had a most enjoyable evening, The pasta dishes were wonderful. the pizza as an appetizer for our group was fun, great wine list and the desert was special. I would highly recommend the restaurant and for our group of 6 we sat upstairs which had less noise and aloud for great conversation.
Everything was really good, however, prices are on the higher side. Also, I ordered a drink at the bar then ordered the same one at the table and it was a $1 higher. I said something to the waiter and his explanation was it was Grey Goose and the bar must've forgotten to charge me the $1 more.
We have always had great meals there. It's great on the way to the theatre or if we are lingering over shared dishes with a group.
A very nice dinner; well-prepared food, well-served, and pleasant, accommodating service persons, and right across the street from Carnegie Hall, our venue for the evening.
