They wouldnt seat us in the main dining room, so 5 adults were squeezed into a table for 4, next to a family with two young kids. The kids were being kids and were carrying on which was disruptive. Everything was great - except the location of our table.

Trattoria Dell'Arte is consistantly very, very good. You can't go wrong, unless you are on a budget as it is a little pricey. However, it's location across the street from Carnegie Hall makes it a convenient location for pre and post show dining.
This is a fun place to enjoy a very creative menu. While the quality is quite good, the prices are that of the very best Italian restaurants. For pre Carnegie hall and several other theatre locations, it is easy and sooo much fun!
If you like Italian food, this is the place to go. Outstanding and quality food. The ambience is great.
We had a lovely dinner - I especially liked the ravioli special and the "guitar" pasta!
Server was outstanding but overwhelmed by having too many tables to serve. Food was outstanding, wine list above average. Somewhat noisy but did not seriously detract from the dining experience.
The Antipasto bar is especially good. The food is fresh, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Best of all, you can make a whole meal from the large variety. Since you can select exactly what you want and how much food you want, it is excellent both pre- or post-theater.
No better spot pre Carnegie Hall
