Antiposto bar a great start-especially the seafood. Great pastas and thin crust piza. Reasonably priced for nyc
It is not a 5 star restaurant, but I hate only giving it 4 stars!
Trattoria Dell'Arte is sitting pretty for location, right across from Carnegie Hall, but they don't use that as an excuse to coast. They excel. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, our waiter was professional, efficient, attentive, and good-humored, and WOW, was the food wonderful! Great veal Marsala, superb steak, and the sampler platter of mozzarella and tomatoes? Divine. We'll be back!
Vibrant scene on a Saturday night. Group of 5 for Pre-Carnigie show meal. Energetic and busy. You definitely had to "shimmy" to the table. Took the waiter what seemed like forever to take our order...but he was a very fun guy and recommended some nice dishes and wine. The food was great. Thin crust pizza was yummy. Once order was placed the food came out quickly. We told the waiter we had to be out the door by 9:45 and he made it happen with ease.
We frequent Trattoria dell'Arte because it's easy and fun and it has a good antipasto! The varied menu has something for everybody - the grilled shrimp are always reliable. The wines are good enough and the pizza is yummy. The desserts look better than they are and can be skipped. It's perfect for a Sunday night which is when we went.
Great location for Carnegie Hall or City Center. Very friendly and pleasant; a bit overpriced.

The service was skilled and fast: my dinner partner had to play a concert at Carnegie Hall across the street, so everything was brought in plenty of time. He had the tuna with lentils and said it was excellent (I have often had this dish and recommended it). I had one of the vegetable/fish plates, with two vegetables and a mixed group of shellfish, which was just enough for me (light but satisfying). We had dessert and de-caf cappucinos, and agreed this was a great restaur... read more
I will be back the next time I am in the City. The pizza was sublime, and the osso buco very close.
Great food! I love the art in the restaurant.
