Get directionsBedlam dementia patients scream for help 23 hours a day help does not respond Staff is over worked they try but have NOT ENOUGH. I came to recover but fear I will be worse if I get out Alive
Although the nursing staff at this facility were very respectful and helpful to my mom, I would not say the same for the social worker Joan. The anxiety and frustration she has caused to our family because of her ineptness to do her job resulted in my mom being discharged without the necessary equipment for her release to her home! To add insult to injury, the request for delivery of the equipment was not received by the agency she provided to us, again resulting in discomfort and adding to the safety issues my mom already ... read more

Hi Antoinette, my name is Abe Oyler. I am the Administrator at Valley Pointe. I’m very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience setting up your mother’s discharge and medical equipment. I’ve sent you a private message with my cell phone number. We really do strive to provide excellent service and I want help you however I can.
Deserves no Stars! Nightmare!! do not send your loved ones here. My Father fell and had a big laceration on his head while 5 plus staff members were with him. He suffered from Dementia and they were trying to put him on a Psychiatric hold instead of providing care for him. Are these trained license nurses??? Shouldn't they know the symptoms of dementia??? My dad was transferred to ED via ambulance, and I did not once receive a call from facility to explain what happened or if he was ok. Also questionable fraud with medical a... read more
I was at Valley Point in Castro Valley. I was at this facility for 5 weeks. I was at Valley Point 2 years ago and it was good, Charlie Dominique cared about the residents. Two years later and what a nightmare. I had a roommate who played her Mexican music full blast. My next roommate has dementia and the staff expected me to watch her. I had two physical therapists who, pushed me when I told them no, my knees were bothering me or I felt sick. On 3 separate occasions , they got pissed at me and left me in the middle of the ha... read more

Jeri, I hope you’re doing well. I’m so sorry to hear that your second stay at VP was such a bad experience and that I wasn’t the Administrator at the time to address your needs. I would have loved to see you again. I am back as the Administrator and I would be so happy if you gave us another chance should the need ever arise. Stay well! ~Abe
After falling at home, my mother was sent to Eden Hospital Trauma Center as a precaution. The next day she was admitted to Valley Pointe for rehab. The staff seemed friendly enough. She was there for a month where she rapidly and shocking declined both physically and mentally at an alarming rate. After a few days there my mother told she had an encounter with one of the nurses. My mother felt the nurse was being rude and questioned her about it. The nurse told her "I'm the boss". To which my mother replied "No you're no... read more
There are some great RNs here, but their care cannot overcome the poor management or the extreme disregard of the doctor & his nurse practitioner who cover 3 other facilities. Their primary contact person, Sarah, is all smiles and lies. I don't want to provide details on my loved one who was in their care, but Valley Pointe's neglect caused them permanent damage. Whatever facility your loved one may be in, I can only advise you to be present as much as possible, and ask questions. I've noticed that previous reviews which wer... read more
I had my Mom there for 3 weeks because of an injury. She fell and fractured her pelvis. Instead of getting her up and having her use the portable toilet, they kept her in an adult diaper. She is now wetting the bed every single night!!!!; I have had to by her depends and she still wets the bed. My bed is ruined. How can they be so lazy. Even the visiting nurse said that was lazy. I have had to wash her clothes every day!!!! I am furious about this. There was only 2 Nurses there that were friendly. One didn't want to change ... read more
My husband and I went on tour at Valley Pointe Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center and found it to have nice appearance; However, the smell was awful, the staff was no where to be found, I found the staff to be unorganized and unprofessional. I witnessed a tug of war and near fight between nurses. My husband and I felt that the vibe was all wrong and not the place for me and my hip replacement.
Just because it shines on the outside doesn't always mean that is the true inside. I went to this establishment on 12/23/2016 I met a wonderful administrator who showed me around the facility. He showed me a room and listened to my concerns about my mother. It seemed to be the right fit. After agreeing to have my mother come there the real truth started to come out. At 5:30 in the evening, during a Christmas holiday, the Director of Admission called me to tell me that they could no longer provide the room that was prom... read more
