I have used Vonage for more than 10 years and it's always been a great cheap alternative to the big phone companies. Now with the improvements in wifi and their app on my iPhone phone I can receive client calls and call them back easily without them even knowing I'm out of the country ! The signal works great - all you need is wifi and I love 'blocking' junk and robo calls!

I restarted my Vonage account since I would be traveling and living in Azerbaijan. This app works great for me. Everywhere I go, there is WiFi so I don't use cellular at all. Saves a ton on roaming charges. Plus I still have a US number. Very happy camper.
With this app you are not dependent on landlines & now wherever you are with connection you can make international call.
