W. A. Frost is located in an old building with beautiful tin ceilings. The food and service were amazing. If you are there for a special evening give the tasting menu (6 small courses) a try. Each course is beautifully displayed and tastes delectable. Come early or stay late and visit the bar. This room is my favorite place at W. A. Frosts. From the giant old bar to the exposed brick walls, to the artwork on the wall, it is just a gorgeous place!
Got together with a few friends to celebrate a birthday. Food was good, dining area was spacious and beautiful. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. Food was very good. Wait staff and host were very pleasant.
I got the five course meal and it was one of the best meals of my life! Very elegant and special. I would recommend this place to anyone!
We went for a special occasion to celebrate our 37th anniversary. The last time we had dined here as probably over 5 years ago, however it was one of the best meals we have ever had so we thought it was about time to go back. The food was the star of the evening, it certainly was not our indifferent server, nor was it the interior of the building. Would recommend at minimum a deep cleaning, ideally new interior paint and an overall freshening would be done. Don't plan to go back anytime soon, there are too many top flight ch... read more
I had the Roasted Cod, which did not disappoint. The servers are always friendly and helpful when asked. Dishes removed promptly and without disruption. Drinks were great. The only thing that I could criticize was that I was not offered a dark napkin as I had on a black dress and I requested a quiet table (hard of hearing) and there was moderate noise from several groups that were seated on either side of us...these are not unique to Frost but would bring the ambiance up to the quality of the food for me at least.
My companion had the Po'Boy sandwich which she enjoyed. I had the roasted chicken cobb salad which was pathetic. It was thrown together and not very tasty. I could have gotten a much better salad at Baker's Square for half the price.
We were given a gift card to W.A. Frost nearly a year ago. This was our first visit and had heard how special the ambiance and food was and our evening lived up to what we had learned from others. Our table was ready when we arrived and from that time on , we were attended to well by our server and other support staff. The food was prepared and presented well; even the tiny tastes of three desserts. We are history buffs so it was fun to wonder about the building's origin and who might spent time in the building over the deca... read more
excellent service, warm fire and extensive menu from basic burgers to exceptional dishes like Pheasant. This is a romantic warm find in St. Paul neighborhood.
Went for Saturday Brunch - casual upscale style. The menu is very foodie and the kitchen makes good use of local and sustainable farming sources. Unlike the mini portions of most Art-Food restaurants the brunch portions were generous. Ordered the pork hash and the oyster Po-boy - both delicious. Ordered champagne, but the overall wine list is extensive. Craft cocktails are also a specialty. If you are watching your diet, great because the desserts are mini-portions; no sharing sizes. Our servers were attentive and friendly, ... read more
