I went to all of the well-known bridal places in NYC, from the fancy, more expensive salons to the cheaper, no frills stores. When I walked into Wedding Atelier, I breathed a sigh of relief. It was clean, quiet, and beautiful. I met my consultant, Hollie, who was fabulous. First we spoke about styles, designers, budget, and location. I had a wonderful time trying on dresses at Wedding Atelier. The experience was so personal and wonderful. Jenny was my saleslady. She was so patient and honest and nice and she never pushed anything on me. The dresses there are incredibly beautiful. I was originally going to try the dress on there in NYC and go to a store in CT to order it because it would be cheaper and closer to me since I lived in CT, but Jenny came in on her day off for me so I ended up buying it there! As this was one of the first things I looked at for my wedding, it was really very special choosing a dress. The girls were patient and professional and really listened to what I wanted and found the perfect dress. May, the tailor, is excellent at alterations and helping to disguise any unwanted lumps and bumps. I looked like I had a fantastic bum! I had no idea how important it would be to pick a bridal shop - I was only initially focused on the dress. Wedding Atelier proved me wrong in a great way - they took care of absolutely everything and made it as easy as possible on me (which is what every bride really needs). I gave quality only 4 stars because my dress was a sample, and it wasn't returned to "perfection" like promised (but it was close - May did an outstanding job with my alterations!). I made an appointment with Wedding Atelier since they said that they carried Cymbeline dresses on their websites, and there were a few styles I thought I wanted to try. Unfortunately, they did not have any Cymbeline dresses when I went, but my consultant sat me down and asked me about my past wedding dress shopping experiences, what I had tried on and not liked about the dresses I tried. I struggled finding the perfect dress but the staff at Wedding Atelier was great. I went on a busy Saturday but never felt rushed. The selection was amazing and they even had a trunk show where I met the designer of my wedding dress (Victoria Nicole). Even the fittings went well!
I shopped around A LOT to find the perfect wedding dress and I finally found it at Wedding Atelier! Well, I thought I did on my first visit, put in my order for the dress and then woke up the next morning and realized that it was not my dream dress but everyone at the store was wonderful and very understanding when I called to cancel the order and come in to re-select my gown.
