Awful, the food was awful and they had a child working

The food was really terrible. The sides were overwhelmingly salty. The cast iron turkey burger looked and tasted like grade school cafeteria meatloaf.

I have always loved Westville in EV and other locations, so wanted to take my friend to the DUMBO one near their apt. and we wanted to be outside. No one was at the restaurant so the ambiance was weird. The waiter was very attentive. The problem was the food. It was inedible. I ordered the 4 market plate and only ate the mashed potatoes. The food came out 4 mins after we ordered it and was definitely microwaved (asparagus, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and my friends salmon teriyaki). This place served a purpose, which was to eat in Dumbo and walk back facing the Manhattan skyline. Food was good, but the overall experience was let down by staff who didn’t welcome us, especially the lady at the door. Generally we got the feeling no-one really cared whether we were there or not. Special on the menu was seared sesame crusted chicken on a vegetable salad. Chicken was tasteless, not seared and had a couple of sesame seeds on the chicken. Definitely not crusted! Left 2/3 of the dish.
It was my birthday and freezing cold. They couldn’t seem to seal the outdoor patio to keep it warm and wouldn’t accommodate us inside. When I booked I said it was for a birthday, and they weren’t full yet. I ordered medium poached eggs and they were cold and too runny. I asked them to done again and they were at least hot, but still not medium. There was also confusion about who our server was. I usually love this spot, but it was miserable this time.
I love Westville Dumbo & take all my friends there. I just about always order the Cobb salad. This time it tasted like it came straight from the fridge. The chicken & bacon were hard to eat. Perhaps you can heat up the chicken a tad & serve the bacon warm too. I want to continue to love Westville! I also frequent Chelsea & the Seaport Westville so it’s a habit I don’t want to break!!
Booked an outdoor table, when we arrived dining room was empty. Told it was fully booked …. by the time we left still quite a few table unoccupied, not effort to make accommodation.
