I received a bid for some landscaping. I thought this was an estimate. The project took 1 person about 3 hours, with no heavy equipment needed. The bid/estimate was a HARD bid/estimate.....meaning I ended up paying at least twice what the job should have been. The work was done well, but the money it cost was very out of line.....Not happy......

I called requesting for a certified arborist to come out and inspect my diseased trees. Initially, I was informed that they had none on their crews. Based on the flyer, the crews are all ISA certified. Upon calling them again, I was initially informed that the owner, Nathan, is a certified arborist. Since I have had people claim in the past that they were, I requested the ISA number. The office then informed me that he was not, but their one and ONLY certified arborist was out of town for 2 months. I asked for his ISA number... read more

We had a very nice representative come to our home for an estimate. Was a pleasant visit until we were told how much our job would be. At that point I did not want to pay that price as we did not anticipate that price. We felt very pressured and a bit intimidated by the whole discussion. Bottom line was I explained why we didn't want to pay that much of a price. But, it was difficult to get him to leave. Very nice man but NO means NO. I thanked him for his time. My main issue here is they were extremely overpriced. Stupidly, I did not get any other estimates, relying on their reputation, so that is on me, and while they completed the job, when it was finished, I realized I was extremely overcharged for the work they did.

Beware! The owner of this small business does not stand behind their work. The retaining wall they built for us is crumbling In less than a year. The owner looked at the wall and said, "nothing lasts forever." He also explained all the things that are wrong with the wall and how it should have been done. Then he said, "That's why Cornelio doesn't work for us anymore." (Cornelio bid, designed and supervised the work.) Simply said Yavapai Landscape does not stand behind their work.
