If I could give this negative reviews I would. My daughter moved into The Deacon because it is close to the university, had an attached parking garage that was "secure", and had free parking. When she moved in on August 14th, she was issued a parking pass and parked in the garage. At the time the gates to the garage were broken so anyone was able to park there. Don't live here, they oversold parking and now are talking it back to many students. And residents only found out from a paper taped to their door. If I could give this complex a 0 I would. I moved into an uncleaned apartment. We have mold that has not been dealt with after we submitted a maintenance request 3 weeks ago. The trash rooms are filled to the ceiling at times and spill into the hallways causing roaches to be in the halls. They are corrupt and are not trying to make everyone pay for parking after we were promised free parking in our leases.. this is ILLEGAL. This is a horribly ran establishment. DONT LIVE HERE PLEASE!!!! the people up front are absolutely horrible. they will call the police on you if you complain, because they feel "threatened". They will also tow your car when you have a parking pass for the garage attached to your building because they lease the garage out to a neighboring building. Holy cow, what a horribly managed and maintained property! My college student daughter rented an apartment there during two years, with one year in between. Both times, she was given the key to her assigned apartment to find that the units were utterly unliveable and not even close to ready for move-in. The first year, the apartment had its flooring removed due to water leak damage. I haven't dealt with a worse company in decades. They have a looped phone system that doesn't allow you to get in touch with anyone, at any time. I had to find an executive on maternity leave on LinkedIn to get someone to call me back. After they charged us $300 for one extra night, they locked my son out and sent him out into Cincinnati in the middle of the night because they couldn't get the lady who fixes the keys to return. When I first arrived at The Deacon for my lease at the beginning of August last year (2023), the first month was great (other than getting charged a pet fee when I have no pet). As SOON as you have any issue that you need managements help with, that's what gives this place 1 star, 0 if I could. If I could leave zero stars I would. I lived here for a year and had nothing but horrible experiences. It was impossible to get ahold of anyone, and if you somehow could get ahold of maintenance, they would not come for weeks, and when they did they were rude and condescending, and refused to fix the problem and gaslit you into believing you called for no reason. this place is a hell hole. the management will not listen to you. they won't answer your calls or emails. the ceilings will leak constantly. the pool will never be open, not even in the summer. your neighbors will scream and party on their balconies all night even on weekdays and the management will never do anything about it. there will be vomit in the elevators and dog shit in the hallways. the garage gates will never be closed and your car WILL get broken into. and if it doesn't, the deacon will just tow it. people will s... read more
