If I could leave zero stars I would. I lived here for a year and had nothing but horrible experiences. It was impossible to get ahold of anyone, and if you somehow could get ahold of maintenance, they would not come for weeks, and when they did they were rude and condescending, and refused to fix the problem and gaslit you into believing you called for no reason. Our individual unit was without power for nearly 48 hours and we were told it was not an emergency and people would be there when they could. The pool does not open... read more

this place is a hell hole. the management will not listen to you. they won't answer your calls or emails. the ceilings will leak constantly. the pool will never be open, not even in the summer. your neighbors will scream and party on their balconies all night even on weekdays and the management will never do anything about it. there will be vomit in the elevators and dog shit in the hallways. the garage gates will never be closed and your car WILL get broken into. and if it doesn't, the deacon will just tow it. people will s... read more

Much like other reviews, I wish I could leave no stars or negative stars. There are no words that adequately describe how bad The Deacon is. And in nearly a year since moving our daughter in, and with mostly 1-star reviews, nothing has changed. The incompetence, unprofessional, and absolutely inefficient behavior from the management and staff is shocking. They simply do not care how bad this place is. I have had 2 sons live here in separate units - stay away! My one son lived here for 4 years for the convenience of location and to avoid hassle of moving. However, this place is so bad!. They charge us an additional $272 for cleaning and normal wear and tear - after 4 years and up to 5 different roommates. This is the worst place I have ever had to deal with. The management company is a joke and the fact that UC partners with this place- shame on them!! Build more dorms...don't subject your students to this dangerous and dirty/smelly place. You make it look nice when you walk in...but there are water damage issues, maintenance issues, security issues, etc... Do not let your college kid live here. I'm writing this as i sit in my deacon bed after listening to fire alarms that have been going off all night... I have emailed deacon about this issue but it is close to impossible to get a response from them, or anyone at the desk competent enough to answer a question. But when you do get an answer it doesn't actually answer any of your concerns. I have had maintenence requests for my new unit that i've been waiting to be done for 2 weeks.. one of them being that MY fire alarms also don't work because they were going off e... read more

The Deacon is the worst place I have ever rented in my life. I had to call the Attorney Generals office 3 times for overcharges. The complex chooses your room and then tries to up charge you for a preferred apt. There is NO communication with the staff. BE aware they even charge you 300 to move out by calling it a lease transfer even though your lease it up at the end of July. Stay away!

If I could leave NO STARS I would. Do not read the reviews on their site, they are fake! This place has been a sh!t hole since we moved in and whenever something breaks, no matter how many times you ask to get it fixed, they completely ignore you! We did not have access to the pool except for the last 22 days of our lease. And if they tell you this is a secure building, they are lying about that!
