Booked this place for a 40th birthday. The atmosphere is what sold me. Sadly I wish I was writing a better review, however the service wasn’t the best, the added charges are obnoxious …. $3 charge for “rocks” aka ICE.. $3 charge for “lemon drop” in a Hennessy lemon drop… To start 2 of us got there before the rest of the group. This is the first review I’ve ever written. I would just like to inform everyone how terrible it was. Was there with my girlfriend on valentine’s day. Had to basically step over another table to get to our table. Had maybe 6 inches between us and the table next to us. Our server came to our table 1 time the entire night (30 minutes after we had been seated) to take our order and pour water. We wanted to share some feedback about our experience this past Thursday night. We had a 9:30 PM reservation and arrived on time, but were initially told the kitchen was closing and that you couldn’t take us. After a few minutes of back and forth, we were told that if we ordered right away, it would be fine. Sushi was OK, oysters had no flavor, burger undercooked but they offered to take it back for another but at that point hubby wasn’t interested in eating more. They took it off the bill and comped us a dessert that was pretty tasty (lava cake). Guava sour was pretty good.
Server barely served us. More attention to the other table and only one drink and never once asked how the food was. Lol. Different I guess
Great food ! Service needs major improvement ! But the charge for each Cola refill is a rip off !
We arrived to our reservation and were told they were only seating people outside, when booking our reservation we had the option to request a preference of where we sat - we chose the bar. The host said we could wait for a table inside - we opted for that. She also mentioned the restaurant was overbooked so we could only stay for an hour and a half. My husband and I are here for Valentine's Day, an admittedly busy day for restaurants. We had never been here before, but the reviews and the pictures made it seems like a really fun and delicious new place in San Diego. Unfortunately, they were not ready for primetime. The restaurant decided to maximize their seating capacity by adding two-tops in a space that is not meant for it. It made the space way too crowded, even for a holiday.
