Update to: Doesn't seal and sucks air. Customer service not reachable. Update: after a second unit, the same issue has occurred. The unit does not seal on the lid and thus floats and sucks air. Your pool pump doesn't cycle water, runs hot, and the MX-8 goes nowhere. This is being returned and will be the last zodiac product I buy.

If you have an older pool with smaller pipes that clog up, this is a great device to save you from having to call the pool guy to un-clog things.

Heads up no short vac hose included and good luck finding it for sale. I have been unable to try this because I cannot find short [2-3 ft] vacuum hose for it. Due to this seeming unavailability seems like this should be part of the purchase. what i'm trying to say is this item is useless without the short length of 1.5 in vacuum hose. I'm thinking that the mfgr must be awere of this problem and had a duty to warn buyers

At first it was a great canister with a cool effect but after some time ... At first it was a great canister with a cool effect but after some time the seal leaks and lets in air..WTF! So based on other reviews I had to put a few rocks inside to keep it under water just below the surface for the main seal and so it doesn't tip over to let in air at the bottom if the cleaner sucks in some air and creates an air bubble in the chamber (this will tip it sideways and let in air through the bottom gasket).
