PAY ATTENTION TO THE LOW RATINGS!! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! We were happy with this sweep for about 2 months. Since then (going on 2 years) we have constantly battled to keep the pool clean. It will stop moving as soon as it runs over something big...like a leaf (insert sarcasm). Not worth the money or the time to constantly "fix" the cleaner. Bought this cleaner a little over 6 months ago. We have had several issues with the cleaner since that time. Multiple times the cleaner has completely stopped working, or has required an insane amount of suction from the pump to even move slightly. We have cleaned out the grit that gets into the cleaner each time, but this happens at least once a month. Don't waste your money!! The MX-8 is a piece of junk! I did a lot of research on-line before chosing the MX-8. I was replacing a Hayward unit. From the beginning the thing wouldn't work. I followed all the directions and ensured that the suction was set properly. Full disclosure, I have a dedicated vacuum line, single speed pump, a pebble-tec liner, and a cage. Did Not Work Well for Me- Perhaps a better more knowledgeable pool owner would have succeeded more. We have a brand new pool. Gunnite/concrete standard surface. This vac works on water flow/suction. IF the water flow is too much, won't work. If too little, won't work. I have a top of the line variable speed Hayward pump. Despite the adjustments, I could not get this thing to run right. Pebbletec pool with Palms leaves = bad combination I have the Kreepy Krauley Sand Shark which slowly started to not clean so I researched the many suction devices out there and decided on the Baracuda MX8 as the manufacturer claims it works with 50% suction. Living in Arizona my back yard has lots of palms and in the summer times we get our share of palm leafs and other leafs in our pool.
