This is a great cleaner, I put the cleaner in my pool ... This is a great cleaner, I put the cleaner in my pool over night and by morning it is clean. It picks up small debris, and leaves, but it will stop if a small stick gets stuck in it, all you have to do is remove and it starts going again. If it does get stuck in middle of night the pool won't be clean in the morning but that is just part of cleaning it at night. Can be used on ABOVE ground swimming pools! We have an above ground swimming pool and as I went to use our normal manual vacuum I realized it broke so I needed a new one asap. I couldn't find a automatic pool vacuum that was fairly inexpensive and one that could also be used for above ground swimming pools. I came across the MX6 and took a chance buying it and so far I'm so happy that I did! It's pretty easy to hook up and starts working immediately as it hits the ground. Decent cleaner with some reservations. This generally works very well. Has no issues scaling the sides of the pool and the separation between this robot and the collection canister (Zodiac Cyclonic Automatic Pool Cleaner Leaf Catcher Canister) is genius. Unlike the old style polaris that carried a small bag around, this works really well. My gripes about this is if you have palm fronds, you may find that the leaves sometimes gets tangled in the gears and the cleaner just stops running.
Set it up and forget it Bought this as a replacement for the Zodiac MX6 which had worn out. This does a better job of climbing the walls of my in ground fiberglass pool that the smaller MX6 unit. As with the other it takes a while to get the suction set properly for the right speed of the unit. It is best done with two people - one at the pump valves and the other in the water with the unit and a stopwatch. But once this is done it is essentially maintenance free. I thought that a track one like this would work better For the considerable price, I expected more. Coming from the use of electric (dolphin) and suction side (hayward and kreepy krawly), I thought that a track one like this would work better. It does work well, and really zooms around the pool. It climbs the walls better than any of the others.I have some quality and longevity concerns though. cleaner walls it works amazingly well . goes where no hayward had gone before. of course i have only had for 1 month , but i enjoy watching work and scrub. the only problem is the refund . unless you spend more than amazon charges , no refund . even though with extras and leaf catchers i spent a lot more . so they lose one star for not refunding me .
Adequate cleaner . . .durability? Once this cleaner is set up it scoots around the pool rather well, however the rotating paddles are rather far off the pool surface as is the suction intake so that it often misses debris. In addition, the dedicated nature of the hose means that you can't use it for double duty when you vacuum (it won't fit the vacuum nozzle).
