MX8 Excellent pool cleaner In the past 20 years we have had 2 homes each with an in ground pool. The pools are about 120 perimeter with a pebble tech surface. Until recently we have used Hayward/Arnison Navigator pool vacs. Living in Arizona our pools and pool cleaners get a lot of year round use. MX 8 is great This is my first pool cleaner purchase and did a considerable amount of research before buying. I was concerned based upon some of the reviews suggesting that the manufacturing of the unit was suspect. I am happy to report that is not the case! I have used the cleaner twice a week since purchasing and it is doing a FANTASTIC job. Could the advertising be wrong? The advertising inferred that if you have a few leaves in the bottom of your pool they would not stop this cleaner, it was a matter of a quick internal adjustment and all is well. Nuh! One leaf (rose bush size) will do the trick and it does not have to be a leaf. Palm string, cotton off swim attire - you name it. Baracuda MX 8 This is my first pool vacuum, so rating high as it does work. One of the hoses shipped was cracked. Not sure who to contact to replace it. Seems to run okay, but doesn't climb over and up steps. Got more instructuions on how to set up the suction properly from my Leslie's Pool guy than the actual instructions to get the mx8 to start moving. The video ads show the mx8 moving much faster.
Poor quality Doesn’t even last a year without not working.Don’t buy it unless you have 2 year warranty
Do not buy terrible vac and design look elsewhere Product does not work spent hours adjusting valve settings pump settings, etc. unit wheels do not activate. As soon as I get enough suction to move the gear assembly the pressure relief valve on the swivel head hose attachment trips and unit stop functioning. I would return it but Amazon left the package in front yard during a monsoon storm and packaging was destroyed by the time I got home to retrieve it. Stuck with a useless hunk of plastic.
Defective product returned - 100% restocking fee The included hoses are brittle plastic and split under normal use within days. No abuse, no overtightening - just routine setup and operation. Once the hoses failed, the cleaner was unusable. Returned and charged a 100% restocking fee! Beware of both product and seller.
Keeps getting jammed and parts wear out quickly. Not happy with this cleaner. Had it about two years so now out of warranty. We’ve had it replaced twice because it stopped working. In addition, parts have been replaced to keep it working. Fortunately the warranty has been honored so the repairs and replacements didn’t cost us anything. Now the warranty has just expired it isn’t working again so time for something different…
