Terrible experiences with this mortgage company. I tried to make an extra payment to the principal of my loan and it took them 4 phone calls before the finally applied to to the principal. The kept wanting to take a HUGE amount of interest. They charged me with late fees when I paid within my grace period but tell me that even though they will accept my Saturday payment on line, they won't apply it to my account until Monday. They want to make sure they collect the late fee. I'd love to know why I lose my 15 day grace period... read more
Worse mortgage company I have ever seen all they think about is repossession on my home they don't want to hear any thing else
I purchased my home in October of 2009. My loan was supposed to be for 7.4 years. Originally, the note was held by **** but 21st Mortgage bought it out within about 6 months. There is only one negative that I have to say about 21st Mortgage and that is that after a 10 day grace period, they start to call to find out when to expect the payment. horrible customer service. They harass stalk and call your friends family and/or neighbors and harass them also. inaccurate charges .escrows that go no where but to the company and doubledips on interest. This company needs to be audited!
They are one of the rare mortgage companies, in my experience, whose web site does not allow you to check loan balances, transaction history, etc. Everything has to be done over the telephone. I called today, early January, to ask how much interest I had paid in 2016 and was told they did not have access to that information and that the appropriate form would be sent out on January 31. I was 28 days past due and attempted to make a payment. The manager harassed me on why I was late and threatened foreclosure. I couldn't discuss it due to being at work. The manager refused to accept my full payment until I told him why I was late and when I was going to make my next payment, which wasn't due until three days later. I kept telling him that I just needed to make a payment. He still refused, so I had to hang up.
This company is a nightmare, if you are always on time, an fall on hard times, an have a late payment they will harass you until 8:30 pm, shut off online payments to your account, and make you call only to belittle you, an if you don't answer their 150,000 questions about why your payment is less than 10 Days late to what they want they will refuse to let you make a payment. I fell behind on my loan with this company due to an injury. At first I tried explaining my situation and that I would catch up. They did not want to hear it. Instead I got harassing phone calls everyday. They never tried to work with me at all. They then took steps to foreclose, forcing me into bankruptcy. After bankruptcy, payment arrangements was made through court. These arrangements was on 21st mortgages terms and the payment was over $1000 a month for 12 months. My experience with 21st Mortgage started out very well, during the application period I had fantastic service. I worked with **** ****** and he was fantastic! Everything was done timely and correctly. However once my loan was approved the tone of the company seemed to shift. When I call now they sound irritated at my questions. I recently went through and ordeal with them that has sparked me to write this complaint.
