Our company joined 8x8 near the end of 2008. We'd been on an in-house system, and it was getting pretty old. At the time, we had around 25 employees, and maintaining and managing the phone system was just another task that our IT department of one had to handle. The thing that we at Merchant Warehouse love the most about 8x8 has certainly been its dependability. Working with another phone system for several years at this company, and experiencing many occasions of "down-time" or "system error", it has been an absolute delight to know that when I head into the office in the morning, I will be able to do my job to the fullest because of 8x8. We are new to the 8x8 platform, came over from Vocalocity. The 8x8 system is head and shoulders better than our previous experience. The Outlook integration is awesome and the cell phone application puts the office "on the road". We were also able to cancel our previous paperless fax application and use the integrated service with 8x8. Support during the changeover was spectacular. We are a very small sub division of a very large company. 8x8 has allowed us to maintain our independence and support our home office workplace structure, something our parent's company phone systems definitely did not. 8x8 did this by being cost effective and incredibly easy to implement, two things critical to allowing us to use this solution.

As a sole practitioner in the legal profession, 8 x 8 provided me with a powerful phone system that legitimized my business so that it doesn't appear to be a one man operation. The VOD but also our implementation team. Not sure if you are allowed to name names but Truong who is our tech has been very helpful in getting out system setup. We had probably close to 100 phones (mix of VOD as well as Polycom 310's) as well as a few hundred more other DID's we turned into virtual Extensions/numbers and it seemed like a pretty big nightmare to think about. We switched to internet phone service for a number of reasons. Our first goal was to cut costs and lower our monthly phone bill. What I love the most about my 8X8 phone system is the flexibility. With the VOIP phone one does not have to manually move the lines when changes occur. Additionally, the hosting of the system by 8X8 makes it easy to manage through the user friendly virtual manager interface. Perhaps the biggest of all is the assurance of quality services through the no long term contract policy, which is reasonable that other VOIP providers.
