I moved fro out-of-state into San Diego earlier this year and the people, especially Isaac, could not have been more helpful to me. He provided me with all necessary information and suggestions as to the storage needs that I required for all my extra "stuff". I would definitely recommend the location (very convenient) and the staff. The facility itself is well-lit, clean and well-maintained. Great doing business with this facility and the staff. Jo Ann T
I stored my vehicle here for 8 months while I was out of the country. I paid a little extra for them to move the car (for tire health) and do a trickle charge (whatever that is) on the battery. I had to make a form of payment change at one point and it was easy to do through email. When I arrived back in San Diego, I was able to pick up my car no problem and was out of there in minutes. If you need to store a vehicle and you want to make sure it's well taken care of, look no further!
I have a unit with A1 for my business storage needs. I am in and out of the unit regularly and have had the opportunity to work with most of the people who work here. All of them are fantastic! I receive UPS shipments here and occasionally my unit number is left off by the shipper which can be a major problem. I purchased office furniture and needed a place to store it for a few months, while I was setting up my new office in Banker's Hill. I almost rented a 5'x10' locker, but Issac told me it would not do. I ended up leasing the 10'x10' locker, and my furniture barely fit inside. Wow, using their service for almost a year and I was 10 days late with payment for one month and they sent me a letter threatening a lien and processing. A bit of an overkill if you ask me. I could understand it if I was refusing to pay or had previous no-pay history. I thought they were a good storage place until this. I guess they would take you to court for late payment. Creepy.

The self storage industry is regulated by the State, and the wording intended to inform you of the process. June 5 2011 First Impression: Location is well maintained and staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Criticism: The office hours are typical business hours 9 to 5 which can make anyone with the same working schedule impossible to actually see someone. My husband & I were pleasantly surprized at the ease of moving into the A-1 Self Storage on Pacific Hwy. It was so clean; well lighted and the management so helpful and friendly. Also really appreciated the first month's free rent when we had so much going on with the rest of the move. Thumbs up on the whole experience.
Brad provided "top notch" customer service!!! All of the staff is extremely friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you with any of your moving needs. My movers cancelled on me at the last minute, and Brad was able to find a company that were willing to fill in on very short notice. In addition, he called to follow up later that day to be sure that my move went smoothly. The facility is very convenient, clean and secure.
I would highly suggest A-1 Self Storage. The facility is very safe; cameras everywhere and codes in place to get anywhere. Plus, my unit was extremely clean which made me extremely comfortable storing my couch and other furniture. Really great customer service as well!
