Linux compatible ... I think not. Update the specs. Drivers are junk, waste money and time. Have a ticket with brother support but judging from research and forums this is going to get returned.
works well but incredibly stupid design - what were they thinking I purchased this scanner from Amazon yesterday after an Epson ES 400 that I had bought several days ago, arrived broken; it would not duplex scan. This scanner and the Epson ES 400 are similar and require a USB cable to connect to your computer as this is not a wireless scanner. The Most Inconsistent Desk Scanner Ever We purchased two of these for our office. One of them works pretty well, it will handle about 20 pages of standard printer paper at a time with no fuss. The other one, however, has been a headache and a half. It regularly jams from even single pieces of paper. Getting things like receipts or legal paper to feed is an absolute nightmare. No USB cord At this time, not installed. Though I have WiFi, my Installation download gives me only one option for Startup and that is with scanner connected to computer with a cord, which was not supplied.
Buy a cable when you order, and be prepared to be FRUSTRATED by not having loadable software in box Well you can't use it out of the box, it doesn't come with the usb cable, and it uses both types. Also it doesn't come with the software, you have to search for it online. Don't know how it works cause I have to wait for cables, very frustrating.
Does NOT come with software I'm very disappointed that the scanner does not come with any software. You have to download it from the website. My photo computer is a stand alone tower that is not connected to the internet. They give you a toll free number to request software be sent, but I've been on hold for over 30 minutes. I'll download to a flash drive and see if I can get it transferred to the tower. Just beware, you have to hunt down the software.
Bait & switch from Brother. You have to 'subscribe' to some crap to get the driver. Deception from Brother, I use to trust. You have to get out your credit card and sign to some subscription crap.
