Brother Scanner Review Unfortunately I cannot return the scanner because I've have had it for over two months. I only recently started using it. It is fast, BUT it leaves a vertical line on virtually every page. So, I would NOT recommend purchasing it, if you want clean clear copies. I was told to reinstall Adobe Acrobat by Brother tech support, and that did absolutely no good.

Spend more and buy the Fujitsu REVIEW UPDATE 01/20/2019: Having used this scanner now for several months, my advice is Spend More Get More. This scanner is a time waster, having to fix all of it's nuances frequently. I was having some troubles and called the Brother USA helpline. All they wanted to do was have access to my computer, and to sell me a $300 maintenance program with a "Level Five Registery Error Engineer". USB cable not included; ADS-2700W has better connectivity for only $50 more This model only has a USB 2.0 interface, but Brother didn't include a cable! The next model up adds WiFi and Ethernet built-in, and is only about $50 more. It also includes a color touchscreen and scan-to-web and scan-to-email features. Buy the ADS-2700W or the less-expensive ADS-1500W if your scan volume is lower or if you need a more portable option. Where’s the cord? Did not come with the cord to connect to the computer. Very disappointing considering the price!
it scans... kinda This machine does not perform as you would expect a piece of equipment would in this price range. I has trouble feeding 5+ pages without double feeding. The software from brother is outdated and does not take advantage of the double sided scanning (only works for direct scanning), and this unit even requires you to supply our own USB cable. Does not connect to a network and lacks the necessary USB cable to function (SOLD SEPARATELY!?) I was so excited when this arrived, especially because of its compact size. Unfortunately, I ran into a huge roadblock as soon as I began reading the user guide to set it up. IT DOES NOT CONNECT TO A NETWORK AND DOES NOT COME WITH THE NECESSARY USB CABLE to do so. Useless for Mac users wanting to scan more than 50 pages into one .pdf file First of all, make certain that you have a printer cable handy when you take it out of the box. When will manufacturers provide cables? Since I was able to purchase one for about five bucks from an Amazon source, how much would it add to the overall cost of the unit if it came with one?
