I was told 139.00 per hour. Charge 15-minute increments they were there 1 hour tried to charge me 375.00 plus 100.00 deposit. I told them to take the stuff back, I will rent a Uhaul instead
Lied about service. Wasted my time
Movers dragged their feet, took four plus hours to complete a 1 bedroom apartment move 10 miles away when everything was already packed. I was estimated two hours by the sales representative. I even tried to speed things up by carrying some of the boxes myself. A simple move cost me a lot more than what I budgeted.
Quote/estimate was widely inaccurate. So I had issues from the point of confirmation. Tom called me and was arrogant and condescending so I could not speak to him and Jeremy had to call me back. I do not recommend this company at all. The office staff were very friendly and professional. However, on the day of the move not only was my service rescheduled to later that day, to an undetermined time, but they changed the crew from 2 to 3 men as this was the only team available AND they increased my hourly rate. The day ended with me spending nearly $300 over their projected cost! I have to make another move shortly, but I will NOT use AMS again.
I had a very bad experience with this moving company. It ended up costing over twice as much as quoted, the furniture was not all unwrapped, many of the boxes were left outside on the porch, and I never received an email with the recept. When I unwrapped my leather loveseat the back was broken. The manager did not send me the insurance email.
They worked hard and packed all of my belongings with care. I was blown away by the final invoice. I was charge $274 fuel surcharge when I didn't even use their truck. Then overcharged for labor hours. The estimate was nearly double what I expected.
Predatory, plain and simple. Neglected doing an in house estimate. Cost went 250% over estimate. Crew was excessively slow and did not pack all our belongings, for a local move! Only authorized payment after waiting 45 minutes for their network issues. All costs were not clearly expressed. You have to pay for the tape for your furniture to be wrapped. My questions about the fuel fee were not answered correctly answered. Make sure you ask about all fees and charges and what is included.
