If you call in an incident and can wait for the service then it is pretty good, but if something unexpected comes up during the service call you are out in the cold. They won't cover any portion of the unexpected service.

I have had bad experiences trying to call the Company and always got someone from another Country that was hard to understand and they had to call someone else to get answers
They have responded promptly when I needed service They have professionals that get the job done and in a timely manner. Knowing I have this kind of service gives me peace of mind.
Our repair tech was competent, courteous, and prompt. He kept his shoes covered and wore a face mask during the visit.
Plumber came out and fixed the issue next day. However we still had an issue a week or so later (the faucet was completely corroded and wouldn't turn) The plumber must have knew it was going to be an issue because the next time he came out he had the faucet and fixed it in less than 2 mins. If they knew the issue the first time they should have just fixed it. But at least the problem was solved. Not sure it was worth the $100 fee... but at least I didn't have to pay twice.
Every time I ask for work request American home shield is prompt in getting me help.
First experience went well! Had a plumbing leak at one of my my properties, AHS dispatched a plumber and had it resolved on a few days.
