American Home Shield is very efficient. We've used them before so we got them again. Due to COVID, getting hold of them on the telephone is a nightmare but they've acknowledged it. They gave options and one of them is online. I did the claim online and it was super easy. When the tech came, he had a mask on and did definitely stay six feet away. He fixed the issue and left.
People shouldn't buy a home without an American Home Shield Warranty. I have one and so far, I've had an excellent experience. There was a time when one of my burners would stay sparking and it would just click and click even after it's lit. Another burner wouldn't click at all. I submitted a claim to AHS and their tech from Stephen's Appliance came and looked at our burners. I gave the tech the code to get into my place without me being there and they found my burner's problem. The tech called me and told me that they were ... read more
Our AC was running but it was not working well. The air was flowing but the AC chiller was not working. It was blowing outside air into the house. Tru-Way figured out that it was caused by a leak in the air conditioner coils. They put a leak detection fluid into the air conditioning system and a week later, they came back to see where the leaks were. They determined that the best course of action was to refill it with fluid. They replaced the refrigerant liquid in the coils and ever since they did that, it has been working w... read more
I've had American Home Shield since '93 and their service in the beginning kept me around. The price was pretty good compared to other companies. Up To Code Plumbing came out recently and they did a good job. But I thought there were two things that I have requested. When I looked at the paperwork, it didn’t seem like it was done. I don't know if it was because the person who initially put in the request have not understood me clearly because of the language barrier. But the person that came in at the time was very friendly.... read more
The air conditioner didn't work and American Home Shield sent out Jay Jay Mechanical. In 20 minutes, they said they would be here. They were like next door as 15 minutes later, they were here. They did what they needed to do. The fix was done on-site and that was fun. I'm doing pretty well but I wish American Home Shield would lower their prices like if the yearly fee dropped a little bit. It's kind of expensive but it is what it is. I also wish they have more availability on some usual stuff.
I chose AHS because I have a friend that has a home here in Pennsylvania and one in Arizona as well. He used them and he has good experiences with them. However, when I had a problem with my water heater, and the contractors came out for that, it was a little confusing. I talked to a gentleman twice about it. The pressure relief valve on the water heater itself was leaking. When the serviceman was out here, they determined that the pressure reducing valve coming in from the street was the issue. They replaced that at no charg... read more
I’ve been with American Home Shield for 20 years and in the past, everything has been good but I have a problem now. I called them for the air conditioner and I was on hold for 45 minutes, which is totally unacceptable. It used to be that I didn’t have to call them. I would call the people that we usually went through and then, they called AHS. Still, the contractors have been great.
My air conditioner was not working and the contractor came out here one weekend and fixed it. But the next day, I noticed that the heat pump continued to run when the unit wasn't on. So, I contacted American Home Shield and the contractor came back and fixed the heat pump this time. I’ve been with AHS for at least three years and I like them because every time I needed something repaired or replaced, it was done with no questions asked. They replaced my water heater and refrigerator. Then, they got my air conditioning workin... read more
The service from Sean Electrical Mechanical was great. The guy showed up on time. He was very friendly and cleaned up after the work was done, which was kind of a mess because we have plaster walls. That was a pain in the butt to clean up. The lights were fixed and we didn't have any issues. This is my third year with American Home Shield and I like the service. What I did not like is last year, there was a price increase and they didn't notify people. It went from 60-something to 90-something so it was a significant jump. I... read more
