It amazes me that despite the comments about customer service or lack thereof, they haven't improved. I've had the same issue with the place for a couple of years. Walking in there during the week is like a walk in the desert, you're likely to come across a tumble weed before you come across a sales associate. I love all the cool stuff in the place and it's fine if you know what you're looking for and you don't need assistance but if you need help with something, go to The Great Escape.
RUN!!!!!!!!! do not shop here. customer service is absolutely the worst I have ever had in my life. Bought a $1200 grill march 3rd. Did not get it until April 20th only because I DROVe to their distribution center in tinley park to get it otherwise the lord only knows when I would have received it. was given $150 gift card but what good is that going to do when I dont want to stop at this store not even with a $150 gift card. do not buy, order, nothing hurry up and walk out if you are reading this in the store.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered a hot tub cover from them back in Nov of 2012 it is now end of February 2013 I just received the wrong cover I went in Jan and lance "sales guy" told us he had better things to do then have customer service. Working in customer service myself for 5 + yrs. I was outraged. Our order was never placed even thought they charged credit card. I spoke to the assent manger John. Worst customer service in the world. Hard to ask two people for help in the pool room area as I needed information on refelting my table. Neither could help, both were searching their iPads for information before telling the ONE girl who knew about it just left for lunch. No sense of urgency, no customer service attitude. The store personnel were all concentrating on wrapping up left over Christmas stock and had no interest in helping customers, I won't go back.
This store is awful from the minute you walk in the door! Try findng a sales associate - it will take at least 15 minutes. Then ask him/her a question. Their answer is SKETCHY at best. I have personally found out that they will tell you "No, none of those left," only because they don't feel like checking! Find something, finally, and go to the cashier, if there is one open. I really wanted to like this store especially since I called before I left to trek to Naperville on one of the most congested roads RT 59 on Black Friday weekend...I explained to the gentleman on the phone what I was looking for I was very specific colour style everything...he said he definitely had tons of them and a whole wall of ornaments. My wife and I wanted to upgrade our Christmas tree this year so we went to American Sale Friday night (11/18/12) to look at Christmas trees. The Store was about to close so we felt rushed into buying a $500 Christmas Tree. The salesperson was very nice, but gave us no information about warranties or return policies. GOOD PRODUCTS, DECENT PRICES, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We just ordered a patio set from there. I like it and it is good quality but they had comparable sets at Costco for half the cost. I thought the extra cost would be worth it to deal with a place that specializes in outdoor furniture and sets it up completely. I got the "premium delivery" option ($120) and when they delivered my set, the umbrella base was missing. Holy bad customer service! I am actually in this store right now being "helped" by customer service. Theresa, who works in customer service, didn't even say hello to me, she went straight to business. She called over Lynda for help and I swear this B&*** eyed me up and down the whole time I was asking a question. I would rather pay retail if it means better customer service.
